JLG Industries UK Ltd wishes to engage a business development manager for the UK and Ireland (UK&I) to support and lead the Power Towers Low Level Access (LLA) regional market development with the collaboration of the JLG UK Sales and Service office.
The successful candidate must be able to understand, identify and leverage the trends in the UK&I LLA market to maintain Power Towers leading position. This will include implementing and managing a vigorous demonstration program at construction sites and industrial facilities, as well as influencing and understanding the needs of end user operators, project managers and safety professionals.
The candidate should have the ability to identify new markets and create pull through strategies and execute upon them. This will include the imbedding of digital content with rental customers, safety managers and operators.
Feedback from all activity will be analyzed to provide insights for future product development.
The candidate should be, preferably, from a LLA access end user sales or rental background able to communicate in the same technical language as colleagues and customers alike.
The candidate must have an understanding of CRM (preferably Salesforce) and digital marketing tools, forecasting processes and target setting, budgeting and forecasting for both sales and marketing. Fortnightly forecasting is to be completed in collaboration with the JLG UK Account Management team.
The candidate must be able to understand and demonstrate clearly where Power Tower Equipment can be placed to the advantage of the client from a safety, efficiency, ergonomic and cost benefit perspective.
They also must be able to influence JLG account management team behavior and motivation without having direct line supervision over them. They will need to work closely with the UK&I JLG Sales Director on strategic development and implementation.
SUMMARY
Responsible for:
- Development and implementation of strategic plan and sales strategy in conjunction with JLG UK SSO. This will include trade-in equipment
- Development and management of pull through marketing and demonstration program required to meet the business objectives and strategic plan related to total Power Tower sales and channel development in the region, including the deployment of digital content
- Increase awareness of working at height practices related to LLA in current and future industries
- Ability to identify, negotiate and manage potential channel partners (supply and license agreements)
- Coordinate with JLG account management team for support, co-visits as required
- Identify new product development opportunities
- Forecast collaboration with JLG account management team for region
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieve revenue, units and profit margin as per the business plan in conjunction with JLG UK account management team
- Manage a robust demonstration program for the products
- Create pull through strategies to drive the need for Power Tower product
- Identify new product opportunities
- Network and nurture influencers, ie: Work Councils, Industry Trade Groups
- Forecast accurately business, customer and competitor activity
- Deploy value added digital content to customers and operators
- Develop and assist with customer relationships alongside account managers
- Be able to survey, assess then report to the client in a clear and concise manner where the Power Tower products bring value
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in working in rental, capital equipment or commercial tool industries and preferably with access related management
- Understanding of digital marketing trends
- Ability to enter and move comfortably on construction sites and industrial facilities
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
- The ability to demonstrate the features and benefits of the equipment in relation to customer’s needs
- Account management and relationship building with both operators and professional staff
- Computer literate in Word, Excel, Notes and be able to adapt and effectively use business systems to support the role and strategy. E.g Salesforce, Webex etc
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/Experience
- Degree level qualification or experience in capital equipment business
- Technical, commercial sales in the capital equipment or tool hire industry
- A positive attitude and flexible approach
- Self-motivated, with good time management ability
- The ability to take on self-learning and develop themselves and others
- A good communicator
- Ability to build trust with similar level account manager
