We are currently seeking talented individuals for our General Manager - Machine Sales and Rentals position!
Here is some of what you’ll do….
POSITION SUMMARY:
The General Manager - Machine Sales and Rental Manager will be responsible for forecasting, managing, and delivering the company's machinery sales and rental equipment Annual Business Plans. This position will be responsible for achieving market share (PINS) targets and by directing the Rental Manager, achieve rental fleet utilization, financial performance, and rental market share (PRRO) goals. This position, in collaboration with Credit/Finance, Product Support/Service, will deliver excellence in customer experience and revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee machine sales and rental departments through the respective management teams in San Diego and the Pacific Islands and support the teams to achieve annual growth targets.
- Establish appropriate levels of sales and rental coverage for the territory and position team to achieve customer experience and business goals.
- Work closely with customers to support their needs and provide solutions.
- Engage with Caterpillar to develop go-to-market strategies.
- Effectively supervise the sales and rental team's performance and their territory assignments.
- Coach and develop sales and rental sales teams.
- Manage quarterly SalesPro scorecard and develop individual learning plans.
- Gather, communicate, and respond to market intelligence - develop solutions to counteract competitive activity and achieve business plan.
- Coordinate and administer Caterpillar programs.
- Responsible for leveraging all Caterpillar Sales and Rental support programs to their fullest extent within the dealership.
- Interface with the District Reps and Caterpillar in a way that optimizes their engagement and participation as it relates to supporting our goals.
- Manage on-board and off-board technology solutions to provide customers options for improved site management.
- Engage with SiTech to expand technology offerings and site solutions for customers.
- Work with Marketing to ensure we are actively marketing and connecting with retail customers effectively on campaigns and to provide solutions.
- Promote, sell, and secure new business, including major accounts.
- Direct the demonstration of products and services and assist prospects in the selection of those best suited to their needs.
- Familiarize established accounts with new products or service developments.
- Work with Marketing for advertising and customer relation activities.
- Interface with Inventory Manager to establish retail and rental inventory levels, asset turnover strategy for all locations.
- Work with the team to establish used equipment strategy and execution plan.
- Conduct other duties as assigned by the Vice President.
- Must have 10 years minimum experience in sales within the earthmoving industry.
- Must have management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.
- Must be organized and a good planner.
- Ability to set and meet goals.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- College Degree preferred.
- Caterpillar Dealer Management Experience preferred.
- Must have 3 years of general office experience.
- PC skills required.
- Must have a valid California Class C Drivers License and a clean driving record
