Trustmark Small Business Benefits is seeking a Sales Consultant with the unique ability to build consultative relationships with health plan agents and brokers. This is a HYBRID work arrangement.

Key Objectives:
As a sales consultant you will build new agent/broker relationships within your assigned territory. You will increase annual premium sales during your first year, by contacting and educating brokers on our products. You will track critical activities (contacts, quotes, etc.) and capture market insights that influence pricing strategies.
What You Will Do:
- Market Trustmark's Small Business Benefit plans to independent agents within an assigned territory and produce sales results. Visit agents and/or customers up to 20% of the time or as necessary.
- Advise Agents on Small Business Benefits products, workflow (enrollment options and underwriting processes) and administrative guidelines.
- Follow up on all Small Business Benefit proposals/sales opportunities. Recommend the appropriate combination of products.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Highly motivated, organized and competitive person with excellent communication (verbal, written and listening) skills.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Desire to learn, apply proven sales techniques and build relationships.
- 3 + years sales experience
- Sales mentality to want to achieve results based on your efforts
- Disciplined approach and methodology to developing your pipeline and following up on accounts and prospects
Bonus Points If:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or professional sales certifications.
- Analytical and consultative sales skills.
- Prior Insurance-related sales. Active Life and Health license (required within 90 days of hire).
- Prior Experience in Group Medical, Employee Benefits.
- Phone-based sales experience.
