Position: Consumer Sales & Retention Manager, IFP


Scope of position: The Consumer Sales & Retention Manager, IFP is responsible for the execution of the AvMed Individual strategy for topline sales agencies, directly contracted agents, and broker down-line sales through relationship development and management, contract negotiations, training, and servicing. And leading and developing a highly engaged, top performing team of captive internal tele-sales Agents who sell Individual plans.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and execute strategies for external sales channel to achieve membership goals for Individual lines of business to support corporate goals and objectives. Analyze and proactively respond to quantitative and qualitative sales performance results.


  • Measure agencies/agents’ sales and renewal performance; measure consumer sales team sales and renewal performance; track sales production results; track campaign results and develop and reconcile reports, providing timely feedback; identify areas of improvement and & make recommendations to VP of Consumer Sales & Retention.


  • Plans, coordinates and directs work activities of staff in department; works with HR to recruit, interview, select, and hire associates; coaches, mentors and develops staff including overseeing employee onboarding and providing career development planning; manages performance by setting clearly defined expectations and providing ongoing constructive feedback.


  • Hunt for new agencies/agents to cultivate and grow, manage contracts, provide excellent service, and exercise long term vision approach.


  • Communicate and monitor downline agency sales goals against production within their book of business.


  • Develop, monitor, and track outbound telephonic retention campaigns, Member surveys; identify trends and areas of improvement.


  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s Business Administration; Management in required
  • Masters preferred
  • 3 years of health insurance sales experience
  • Florida Health Insurance (240)
  • AHIP

You May Also Have:

  • Experience in the insurance healthcare industry; specifically, Medicare and Individual health insurance
  • Strong emotional intelligence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Proficient in CRM / Salesforce
  • Bilingual with the ability to speak, read and write in both English & Spanish without limitations or assistance.
