Job Summary:

The Inside Sales Associate generates wholesale and food service customer sales telephonically. The Inside Sales Associate ensures that all produce is inspected to meet the customer specifications and that orders are distributed accurately and timely by communicating order details to the shipping department. The Inside Sales Associate may have additional buying responsibilities as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Sales Managers. This position is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position with the ability to earn Overtime.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external River City Produce customers
• Generates sales lead by cold calling or other marketing techniques
• Perform customer order collection and entry using company software (Produce Pro)
• Visually inspects produce prior to distribution to customer
• Distributes customer price lists and other marketing materials as requested
• Performs buying functions as deemed necessary by the Sales Managers
• Frequently visits customers to ensure customer satisfaction
• Perform face to face sales interactions with customers at our facility
• Perform other related tasks, as requested by manager

Job Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit for up to 6-9 hours daily to perform job duties
• Must be able to stoop, squat, bend and/or twist to perform various job functions
• Must be able to stand intermittently and occasionally climb up and down one flight of stairs as needed to get to conference room.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance during product inspection period within the distribution center
• Must be able to reach overhead, forward, back and down to perform various job functions
• Must be able to have corrected vision to
• Be aware of surroundings and location of resources and tools needed;
• Assist in answering inbound telephone calls as needed
• Must be able to read computer monitors, invoices, posted notifications, etc. in order to perform various job functions

Environmental conditions:

• Must be able to work around noise and/or vibration generated by warehouse equipment
• Must be able to work around fumes, dust, gases and odors.
• Must be able to work in cold warehouse environments (33°- 56°F) as required by the job.
• Must be alert and able to identify a hazard, should one occur, by reporting immediately or, if directed, by taking corrective measures

Work Experience Requirements:

• 2 years’ experience in sales environment, preferably within the produce industry
• Ability to accurately and efficiently handle multiple tasks in a busy office environment
• Adept at learning new concepts, ideas and processes. Flexibility a must.
• Strong verbal communication skills in English required, Spanish preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and Google suite applications
• Working knowledge of keyboarding and basic computer applications to train on company software (Produce Pro)

Education and Skill Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or Communications preferred
• Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
• Must have an outgoing personality
