What We Seek: An outstanding Handyman / Property Manager to join our Ashford Family

What We Do: We manage 5 single family homes where we provide care for the elderly. We also manage 3 rental homes.

Who Will Be Successful in this Position: Someone who will show up each day with an infectious energy and ambition to raise the bar. They will have an understanding of how stuff works, a vision for what looks great, and love to get their hands dirty while also being able to project-manage and supervise others when needed. In a nutshell, someone who is excited to take true ownership of our properties so that they will be in an immaculate condition we can all be proud of.

Responsibilities: Our Property Manager is assisted by a full-time Maintenance Tech, whose primary responsibilities are preventative maintenance and daily beautification. The Property Manager's daily work will focus more on projects that require the varying skills that a great handyman possesses! A sampling of responsibilities includes:

• Hands-on preventative maintenance, repairs, and project work in areas such as carpentry, doors/windows, drainage, drywalling, electrical (minor), exterior facade work, landscape irrigation & lighting, painting, pest control, plumbing (minor)
• Project supervision (hire & supervise outside contractors)
• Identify and address the need for maintenance
• Respond to occasional emergency needs (e.g. shoveling snow)

Skills:

• Proven experience as handyman
• Experience with the standard suite of tools and equipment
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Outstanding communication ability
• Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
• Exceptional attention to detail, with high standards of construction quality
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus

Schedule:

Scheduling is somewhat flexible, as long as we can agree on a consistent weekly schedule that ensures all required maintenance and projects are completed. Availability to address rare (but inevitable) maintenance emergencies is very important.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
