POSITION SUMMARY

A Sales Engineer is responsible for managing and growing a geographic territory by supporting existing customers as well as by finding and developing new ones. He or she is expected to be the voice of the customer and to be the expert for things pertaining to the territory. Position is remote, based in the Greater Cleveland, Ohio region.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical support on URC products and solutions
  • Create demand for URC products through pro-active promotion with service shops, end-users, and other specifying engineers
  • Influence end-user specifications to provide approval for URC, emphasizing technical advantages over competitive products and technologies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with both current and new customers
  • Develop strategies and tactics to successfully grow territory
  • Present and lead technical seminars and presentations providing training on URC products and solutions
  • Effectively communicate customers’ needs, activities, opportunities, market needs and other related information to your manager and team as required
  • Travel as required complying with URC travel policy
  • Additional duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidate must live in Ohio.
  • Operates ethically and with integrity
  • 3-5 years of sales experience in a relevant industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics engineering or related field
  • Remote except when traveling or required to come into office
  • Ability to travel, both via air and ground, up to 75% of the time
  • Multi-state responsibility for a significant number of products and/or customers
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate confidently with both technically trained and non-technical customers
  • Professional presentation skills suited to presenting URC products and solutions at various organizational levels
  • Interpersonal skills developed to a level sufficient to negotiate and guide potential customers toward a URC solution
  • High level of organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated perseverance to follow up on open leads and convert into sales
  • Demonstrated achievement in sales, business development or product management
