Full description of the position
The Company
Rescue is a full-service marketing agency with a mission to make healthy behaviors easier and more appealing. Since our founding in 2001, Rescue has been exclusively focused on researching, developing, and implementing positive social change campaigns in public health. We provide research, strategy, creative, production, web, traditional media, social media, policy change, youth engagement and experiential marketing services to government, non-profit, and healthcare clients in over 25 states and provinces, as well as to federal government agencies.
Rescue’s health behavior change marketing campaigns focus on topics such as mental health, tobacco, substance and alcohol prevention; nutrition, early childhood development, and other topics that promote healthy living. Rescue’s behavior change campaigns focus on diverse populations within teen (13 - 17), young adult (18 - 26), and adult (18+) populations in both rural and urban areas, resulting in a wide variety of campaign styles and strategies.
We believe that marketing can do more than sell goods, it can create good, and we are looking for team members that are ready to work hard to create a healthier world.
The Job
We are looking for a Strategy Director who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of lower income families and wants to dive into some of the hardest societal challenges around. Working with state and local government clients you will lead the strategic thinking on challenges like how do we reduce obesity in food deserts and how do we prevent toxic stress developing in under 5s. We are looking for someone who wants to become a specialist in supporting families to make healthier decisions in both nutrition and under 5s childhood development, through integrated communications campaigns and activations.
To be successful in this role you’ll be passionate about nutrition and child development and will care about helping families who are less structurally advantaged. You will be experienced at leading strategic projects, working alongside senior client service, creative directors and research leads to develop a plan, gain client alignment and build out recommendations, presentations and briefs to make meaningful change. You will be passionate about driving tangible behavior change, thinking through how change happens, messaging to drive change and how it could be meaningfully measured. Ideally you would have experience mentoring other strategists but this isn’t mandatory.
