VICE PRESIDENT – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

SUMMARY
Increase top-line growth and profits by enabling successful solutions (application of products, services, etc.) for target customers and markets. Work closely with current and potential customers to identify needs, gaps, and opportunities in attractive markets. Research and deploy cutting-edge solutions to enable the execution of established strategic plans and to take a central role in evolving the Company’s value propositions and strategic plans. Reports to Micropump’s General Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • In accordance with Company’s and Group’s strategic direction lead the identification, development, and deployment strategies in new and existing target markets that maximize the Company’s and Group’s growth initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for new technology or product development to meet current and future needs in our target markets.
  • Utilizing engineering principles and collaborating with other Sales, Marketing, and Engineering groups, plan product application solutions with a focus on utilizing the core products and components of Micropump and the Ceme group.
  • Formulate and execute approaches to make positive contacts and build influential relationships with prospective customers’ technical decision-makers.
  • Collect/extract customer-specific system requirement information including documented and un-documented needs, including strengths and weaknesses of existing solutions and competition.
  • Evaluate customer data and systems to accurately derive product form, fit, function, performance, durability, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering in directing suitability testing requirements and working with customers to develop test plans and contingency plans and assisting with customer on-site data collection.
  • Use Value Selling techniques to formulate and deliver our value proposition in a way that improves the Sales Manager’s position for contract negotiation while developing positive, trusting relationships with the customers’ technical counterparts.
  • Help prepare technical specifications and product descriptions of new and existing products for publication.
  • Miscellaneous other duties as assigned.

Customer Service and Marketing - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Understands the needs of the customer.

Engineering and Technology –
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of parts.
  • Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics, and mechanical and electrical structures and processes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Use safety equipment required in a manufacturing environment (e.g., steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and gloves for working with chemicals, hearing protection, etc.).
  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Ability to move freely within a manufacturing and office environment.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, BSME or BSMFE preferred
  • Minimum of ten years of engineering experience in a precision manufacturing environment; knowledge of pump and small frame motors is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools
  • Demonstrates effective communication and teamworking skills.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Ability to think independently and creatively, show initiative, and anticipate and prevent problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large projects and bring them to a timely conclusion.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and resiliency and maintain a high level of energy.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to customer locations, as required; approximately 20-30%.
  • Must have the authorization to work in the United States and be able to have lawful access to controlled technology as required for this position.
COMPENSATION RANGE
  • The estimated annual compensation range for this position is $170,504.00 to $255,757.00.
  • This position is eligible to participate in Micropump's local annual bonus plan. The target bonus for this position will be 25% of your base compensation based on business performance.
  • This position is also eligible for our comprehensive U.S. benefit offerings, which include Health benefits, 401(k) retirement savings program with company match, etc., and eligible for pro-rated two-week vacation.
