Full description of the position

OVERVIEW

Sterling Premium Building Systems (SPBS) takes a generic approach in the market and does business with any licensed General Contractor. SPBS has always focused on the larger, more complicated, custom homes and with the development of larger homes and complex roof designs in the 1990s, SPBS set itself apart from other component manufacturers and still has that reputation today. SPBS has a complete building system that includes panelized floors, wall panels with the windows installed, and a roof truss system that encompasses all the pieces for the roof with no stick framing required. This system reinforces the builder's success by helping them be more productive and providing efficient, cost-effective support. Our features are guaranteed pricing, guaranteed material quantities, and warrants the structural integrity for every custom home they build with us. This allows SPBS builders to focus on what they do best – building quality customer homes.

**The ideal candidate will be located in the Milwaukee Area due to territory location.**

SUMMARY

The Area Manager is responsible for maximizing market share in their local market by recruiting SPBS Custom Builders and educating builders on our product line, business systems and building processes, as well as increasing our share of each SPBS builder’s success by ensuring order opportunities are identified and aggressively pursued.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain an annual sales plan.
  • Recruit SPBS Custom Builders for each market and submit builder applications for company approval.
  • Coordinate the orientation and education of each new builder recruited regarding company products, business systems and services.
  • Quote pricing on custom building plans in accordance with Company pricing formula by using company software and quotation resources and consulting as needed with the engineering staff and management.
  • Promote full packages by selling our exterior and interior finish products.
  • Recruit framing crews and crane resources and coordinate required training in our building process.
  • Confirm the finished quality of each builder’s construction to ensure that it is in accordance with company standards.
  • Oversee each builder’s attention to homebuyer service to ensure that the company’s reputation is upheld.
  • Ensure that customer service provided by the builder is in accordance with our standards.
  • Ensure that customer service provided to the builder’s customers is in accordance with our standards.
  • Consult with each builder on a periodic basis to ensure they are aware of and properly educated on any product, business system and service bundle changes.
  • Ensure that builder issues, inquiries and needs are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Confirm that all invoices and accounts receivable issues are resolved quickly in order to keep all builder accounts current.
  • Network in the local market area to identify potential builder candidates.
  • Gather market intelligence regarding market trends, government and regulatory issues and competitor activity and communicate findings to management as needed.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, reports and other analyses as needed.
  • Support the needs of SPBS Builders and partnering set crews.
  • All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Disciplined and self-directed.

  • Ability to treat all employees and customers/builders fairly and honestly.
  • Excellent communications skills, including both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering sustainable results in sales.

  • Strong relationship building, people skills and ability to manage conflict.
  • Detail-oriented and resourceful mindset.
  • Ability to collaborate and provide motivational skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree preferred but not required
  • 2+ years of experience in the residential building industry
  • Demonstrated sales experience required
  • Experience reading and discerning blueprints
  • Experience estimating and pricing construction projects
  • Experience using a CRM program; SalesForce a plus
  • Experience using a quoting software strongly preferred

Pay: $68,250.00 - $128,520.00 per year
