Dant Clayton is seeking a dynamic and energetic Lean Manufacturing Champion (Six Sigma Black Belt) to drive strategic initiatives and tactical actions to transform our manufacturing operation into a responsive, efficient, and flexible business supporting a highly diverse customer base with an engineered to order product line.

Position Overview
The Lean Manufacturing Champion responsibilities include:
· Develop and lead shop floor-based KAIZEN events that solve bottlenecks, improve OEE, improve productivity (goal is 30% improvement within two years) and improve safety / quality.
· Create and implement a complete business 5S program.
· Partner with the Lean Transformation Manager (LTM) on leading and driving a transformational manufacturing strategy with one piece flow concepts by product line, bottoms up employee engagement and visual management.
· Create a current state and future state map of all manufacturing flow and drive actions to eliminate waste and increase output. Drive actions to reduce lead times from months to days.
· Lead the organizational training and development program with respect to lean concepts, building core skills and problem-solving ability throughout the organization.
· Work with the operations team to refine and improve KPI reporting, PDCA processes and daily shop floor management to optimize performance.
· Review and streamline key business processes supporting accuracy of information, improved responsiveness and elimination of manual work where possible.
Competencies and Qualifications
1. BS degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering or a related degree.
2. Black belt certification required.
3. 8+ years’ experience initiating, championing and driving shop floor based lean programs that have resulted in transformation change and transformational results.
4. Skills using KPI’s to drive daily, weekly, monthly and annual improvements with a full circle PDCA process.
5. Experience in a metals (aluminum and steel) fabrication environment.
6. A desire and passion to work with the team on the plant floor and solve problems using root cause analysis.
7. Excellent project management experience creating solutions to plant floor bottlenecks or constraints.
8. Experience developing and networking with a base of suppliers for plant support and improvement.
9. Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing.
10. A positive / can do attitude and team player.
11. An enthusiastic people person who loves to engage with people at all levels of the organization and drive change.
12. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products and Power BI.
