Our client was founded in the 1930's and is a long standing, well established supplier of framing materials, custom millwork, specialty lumber, windows, doors, and hardware. They are looking for an experienced Decorative Hardware/Technical Sales Specialist to join their Inside Sales team in San Antonio.
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Sales Manager, our Sales Representatives are responsible for promoting our company brand, and our products and services to custom home builders, architects and designers. This involves managing customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets with a focus on Decorative Hardware products. This position requires enthusiasm, drive, and a thirst for building positive client relationships in addition to a solid team atmosphere within the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Increase profitability of the department through effective selling
- Identify growth areas to sell
- Identify a target list of clients to sell and grow/develop sales.
- Assist with decorative hardware cross selling to Executive Accounts.
- Work with the business development representatives to respond to bid requests.
- Offer advice and expertise that solves problems and offers solutions
- Source materials to match needs
- Oversee showroom appointments
- Prepare customer quotes, enter sales orders
- Other duties as assigned
- Previous experience in decorative sales or as a Design Specialist preferably in the construction industry with a proven track record in attaining/exceeding sales goals.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain lasting client relationships.
- Adaptable and able to capitalize on business development opportunities.
- Ability to read and understand blue prints.
- General Computer Skills including Microsoft Teams, Excel, and D365
- Working knowledge of decorative hardware and the construction process

- Consultative Selling experience and certification are highly desirable
This job operates in a combination of showroom, office and warehouse environments. The showroom hours are typically 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. M-F. Hardware Specialists are expected to work 40 hours a week. This can be flexible, even hybrid hours depending on appointment times and project needs.
