Position Summary
First contact point for organizations seeking to engage with the university, especially in the areas of on-campus recruitment and cultivates new recruitment partnerships; organizes the annual fall and spring career fair.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish new employer contacts and strengthen current employer contacts through outreach activities such as cold calls, mass mailings, and individual employer visits.
- Schedule and conduct employer meetings (in-person or virtually) to determine hiring needs and promote the college’s students and alumni as a potential candidate pool.
- Maintain, update, and expand electronic employer database.
- Demonstrate the Titan Career Link system and encourage employer registration and use of the system.
- Makes referrals of currently enrolled students where feasible and applicable.
- Oversee the posting on campus to the college’s students and alumni of degree related full-time positions, part-time and experiential learning opportunities.
- For employers who are interested in developing experiential learning opportunities (internships, co-op or practicum), act as a liaison between employers and appropriate faculty.
- Complete employer site visit forms and generate monthly and annual reports.
- Serve on the college’s career advisory committee.
- Coordinates fall and spring career fairs and other professional development workshops.
- Attend meetings and network at appropriate professional organizations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, student personnel counseling preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in higher education career counseling, working with students, faculty, alumni, and employer populations.
Minimum Qualifications
A college degree with six months to two years required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Computer proficiency required. Internet skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office and Career Services Management software such as CSO, NACELink/Symplicity required.
Knowledge of career development theory and practice, job outlook trends & forecasts, employer relations, job search strategies, interviewing techniques, and resume/correspondence writing required. Experience with career advising, coaching, and mentoring relationships with students, collegial relationships with staff and faculty required.
Experience with Strong Interest Inventory Strengths Quest, DiSC or similar tool(s) preferred.
Outstanding organizational skills, strong verbal, written and public presentation skills are essential for success in this role. Previous experience in post-secondary admissions, financial aid, residence life or student affairs preferred.
Physical Requirements
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Work Environment
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
Licenses/Certifications
Experience or Certification in TypeFocus Careers or Myers-Briggs Type Indicator required. Certification in Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF)

Commensurate with experience
Anticipated Schedule
Monday through Friday during normal university business hours. Possible evenings and weekends as necessary.
