Job Summary
The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for promoting/booking the sales of group tickets for the NASCAR Hall of Fame by performing the following duties.
Essential Job Duties
Responsible for sales related activities for soliciting areas of new business such as education, motor coach operations, chambers of commerce, corporations, social clubs, and professional groups through high level sales skills to negotiate ticket sales for the Hall of Fame.- Attends trade shows and participates as an active member in state, regional, and national group tour & education organizations and associations.
- Displays or demonstrates services using sales materials emphasizing features the NHOF.
- Develops and maintains relationships with clients and prospective clients.
- Compiles lists of prospective clients for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Responsible for assisting with annual sales plan development and implementation of such plan.
- Responsible to ensure that account information is accurately recorded in computer database.
- Works closely with company stakeholders to ensure prompt service to clients.
- Collaborates and executes proper external stakeholder communication to ensure that client requests and expectations are exceeded.
- Provides groups with information on logistics of sale such as invoices, payment procedures, directions and parking, schedules, and curriculum materials as requested.
- Maintains intimate knowledge of all programs and curriculum offered in portfolio.
- Analyzes benchmark organizations to assist in formulating policy that assist in promoting group sales.
- Investigates and resolves client problems related to bookings.
- Prepares reports of business activity and keeps expense accounts.
- Maintains professional demeanor at all times.
- May perform other duties as required.

Scope of Responsibility
This job is responsible for budgetary analysis, preparation, and review assistance.- This job will have periodic access to confidential data including financial statements, company records and/or minutes, customer quotes, product costs, and company plans, designs, and/or programs.
Supervisory Responsibility
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- 3-5 years previous sales experience providing services is preferred.
- Business to business sales experience is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication is preferred.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with database entry and client relations is required.
Physical Demands
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Travel Required
This job will be required to travel somewhere between 20+/-% of the time.
