The Director Retail Sales is responsible for developing and implementing short and long term strategic business plans, driving top and bottom line growth. Provides P&L leadership to deliver targeted objectives and financial results within areas of responsibility. Builds strong diverse sales teams through effective talent management.
- Develop both short and long term customer strategies that lead to top and bottom line growth. Facilitate joint business planning to support strategic business planning with key customers. Understand customer and company objectives and drive successful growth strategies. Translate objectives into strategies for execution by sales teams.
- Provide financial inputs for annual operating plans. Develop financial and operating sales priorities for the fiscal year. Drive necessary awareness, process improvements and communications.
- Build and leverage strategic customer relationships at executive level within key functions of the customer, including marketing, supply chain, operations, etc. Act as a liaison between customer and Wells to facilitate business discussion.
- Provide coaching and counsel to team to build capability and ownership of P&L and general manager mindset. Understand how to positively influence customer cost-to-serve matrix, resulting in improved efficiencies.
- Lead change management process for key sales and marketing initiatives, including providing input, assessing the risks and opportunities, and influencing across the organization. Drive internal awareness of customer strategies and initiatives.

EDUCATION List the minimum education required to be qualified for the position, including certifications or licenses. - Bachelor degree in Sales, Marketing or related field. MBA degree preferred EXPERIENCE List experience preferred to be qualified for the position - Minimum eight years' related experience with work across multiple sales portfolios, including inside and outside sales positions as well as business development. Seven years previous supervisory experience. SPECIFICATIONS List specifications required for the job and indicate the importance and proficiency levels of each. * Knowledge - In depth understanding of the Consumer Package Goods Industry. Understanding of financial and operating systems and process requirements. * Skills - Strong strategic thinking focus using sound analysis of competition, trends and corporate strengths and weaknesses to drive decisions. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to determine trends in the marketplace and use analytics to make recommendations where needed. * Abilities - Ability to analyze and assimilate relevant data into key financial recommendations and decisions. Proven ability to synthesize significant analytical data points and develop solutions or recaps. Proven ability to drive the organization to the next level of achievement with a strong sense of urgency and continuous improvement focus.
