  • Fully remote position will be considered if candidate is more than 75 miles from local Indianapolis office.

Job Purpose
The Account Manager position is primarily an internal role with an occasional meeting outside
the office. The Account Manager maintains, expands, and services existing accounts within
the department. This individual also works directly with the department manager to obtain
information from prospects for submissions, prepare premium comparisons, complete
applications, and create presentations. All tasks are service accomplished within the agency
standards of time and quality.
Primary Duties
  • Maintain current working knowledge of the marketplace
  • Review all carrier generated documents including new business, renewals, and endorsements
for accuracy
  • Process all new business, endorsements, and renewals using the agency management
system according to established guidelines
  • Monitor all open activity and follow up daily
  • Assist accounting in collection of premiums advances or agency billed policies
  • Identify gaps in coverage and uncover opportunities to cross sell additional lines of business
  • Provide day to day service to clients via phone, fax, and email
  • Handle first report of claims by gathering information from client and reporting to the carrier
according to agency guidelines and using agency management system
  • Act as liaison to resolve claim disputes between customer and carrier
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience and Skills:

Qualifications

Years of Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in Personal Lines
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree; or combined equivalent years of education and experience
License, Certification, or Registration:
  • P&C License is required.

Additional Information:

  • Must demonstrate confidence in knowledge of insurance products, markets, and underwriting concepts
  • Must be familiar with agency management systems and commonly used computer programs
  • Must enjoy people and demonstrate creative problem solving abilities
