WITHIN YOUR TEAM:

We are currently seeking a Sales Engineer to join our team! The incumbent will be responsible for significantly increasing Videojet’s market share in the market located throughout the assigned territory. This position will build long term profitable relationships by understanding how and where we can add value to our customer’s business through the use of our full market basket of available product and service offerings, including all coding and marking technologies.

THIS JOB IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO:

Work with customer key decision makers (VP, Director, Project Level, engineers, plant personnel and other contacts) to understand current and future business opportunities for Videojet printing solutions. You will use this knowledge to determine project potential, timeframe, specific requirements, and potential competition; uncover and target the annual spend of accounts for Videojet type equipment and services; obtain corporate level agreements to use Videojet products and services, broadly as the “preferred” supplier as well as for specific projects; and successfully improve on share gain and site penetration especially into competitive strongholds.

WITHIN YOUR ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Be based in the Portland, OR Metro region
  • Be home 5 nights a week with regional travel 3 days per week on average
  • Work from home on days that you are not on the road with clients
  • Drive Videojet sales growth in the NW region/territory.
  • Understand Organizational Structure for all defined accounts. Meet with and build relationships with decision-makers (multiple departments).
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of all Videojet product/technology offerings and how to apply the equipment in various applications (customer needs, competitors, target verticals, relevant applications, and dynamics) based on VOC gained through sales calls, internet research and networking.
  • Drive all sales activity using the Danaher value selling tools.

  • Has Plant Level Solution Selling Skills – ability to access decision makers, assess their needs and provide winning value propositions. This includes the negotiating and follow-up skills necessary to achieve an outcome that is financially positive to Videojet while satisfying the customer’s needs and positioning us well for future business.
  • Exhibits Excellent Communication Skills - an ability to create clear, crisp communications regarding our unique value propositions to the customer and manage complex sales issues within the Videojet organization.
  • Is Team Player— an ability to coordinate with other Videojet salespeople, service team members and support personnel to achieve a desired, agreed upon outcome.
  • Holds a Continuous Improvement Mindset- ability to identify and communicate needed product line enhancements for equipment, and a willingness to work with Marketing & Product Development to implement needed changes.
  • Possesses Leadership Skills – an ability to drive sales through targeted customers and follow through at varying levels of the Videojet organization to ensure on time delivery of complex coding and marking projects

YOUR EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with a proven track record of capital equipment sales within the industry. Sales of packaging line related equipment preferred.
  • Sufficient technical ability to understand the key operating principles of a wide array of various printing or identification technologies and the skills to propose multi-product integrated solutions that address customer specific needs.
  • Travel Required – 60% of the time, mainly throughout the Northwest Region of the United States. Sales Engineers in this role are typically home 5 nights per week with periodic overnight trips as needed.
