Matern Staffing is hiring a Sales Representative for a leading building materials supplier in Charlottesville, VA. This is a contract to hire position with a full benefits package upon permanent hire.

As a Sales Representative, you’ll optimize your relationship building, product knowledge, and sales experience to solve retail customers’ challenges and meet sales goals. You'll be a trusting partner with customers as you understand their needs and develop solutions.

Salary:

$16-$22/hr + commission potential (this was the Manassas office salary range)

Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Answer incoming inquiries from retail customers via walk-in, telephone or email
• Assist customers with product selection, pricing, availability, and refunds/exchanges
• Develop a working knowledge of company products, procedures and practices
• Enter orders into computer system and schedules delivery of products
• Calculate material estimates and quotes for small packages (stairs, decks, fences, sheds)
• Resolve simple customer complaints and forwards more complex issues to senior staff for resolution

What You’ll Need:

• High School Diploma or GED and 6 months retail or customer service experience
• Familiarity with best inventory practices
• Active listener who guides conversations with customers and collaborates effectively with teammates, always ready to step in to help
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for communicating with teammates and customers
• Proactive thinker with great determination, excellent time management, and prioritization skills
• Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus
