Sales Rep Position Description
Job Code/Title: Business Development Manager
General hours of work: Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Exempt/nonexempt: Exempt
Department/Unit: Sales
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
SUMMARY: The Business Development Manager works directly to find and manage new clients in the long term care and nursing home industry to effectively develop and maintain relationships that while marketing our laboratories services.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Prior laboratory sales experience preferred with contacts and relationships with long term care facilities, ALFs, nursing homes, pain management, psychiatry, wellness, women’s health, and/or drug rehabilitation;
- Comprehensive understanding of profitability and ability to implement business practices to increase profitability.
- Three years outside sales experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- All sales related activities from implementation and lead generation to successful account management;
- Develop, execute, maintain strategies to penetrate the market;
- Utilize existing relationships to maintain current and develop new business partnerships;
- Prospect new business and clients via networking with current relationships and cold calling and continuously seeking and targeting new clients in various markets including but not limited to: addiction treatment, rehab, detox, physicians, and laboratories.
- Continuously seeking and targeting new clients in various markets including but not limited to: addiction treatment, rehab, detox, physicians, and laboratories;
- Comprehensive understanding of profitability and ability to implement business practices to increase profitability;
- Provide accountability through completion and submittal of activity and results reports, daily utilization/update of CRM, and periodic territory analyses;
- Work directly with clients to effectively manage their needs and preferences in a timely manner;
- Communicate via telephone and email to address customer issues;
- Calmly handle customer complaints and work to find solutions;
- Seek assistance and report major problems to upper management;
- Compile and update necessary documents;
- Frequently check-in with clients to confirm their satisfaction of services provided.
- Utilize and update CRM weekly.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Prior laboratory sales experience preferred with a current book of business and relationships with physicians in: pain management, psychiatry, wound care, women’s health, and/or drug rehabilitation.
REQUIRED COMMUNICATION/MATHEMATICAL/REASONING SKILLS:
- Must possess the required level of skills and abilities to read, write, speak, and apply mathematical concepts and sound reasoning to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job;
- Ability to create and deliver an informative presentation for small to large groups geared towards that specific target market.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook and a basis understanding of the functions of a CRM;
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written: creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others, and has excellent listening skills;
- This position requires problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to multi-task.
RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPECTATIONS & STANDARDS:
- Maintain confidentiality to include any access to PHI (Protected Health Information), company personnel records, and company proprietary information;
- Maintain relationships with clinics and healthcare providers who currently utilize genetic testing, molecular testing, or drug screening with their patients;
- Superior communication skills – able to use the necessary lingo in the field le to build and maintain a strong pipeline of new business opportunities that is results-oriented;
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in an ever changing environment;
- Comply with safety principles, laws, regulations and standards associated with, but not limited to CMS,
CLIA, COLA, OSHA, and HIPPA.

COMPENSATION:
