About the Opportunity:

We are looking to expand our team with the newly created role of Customer Account Specialist. This position will require building trusting relationships with our customers to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices and reconciliation of accounts for goods and services provided by Smith System and our affiliated companies.
· Review incoming customer payments and ensure payments are applied appropriately.
· Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of customer specific invoicing requirements and pay cycles.
· Establish relationships both internally and externally through open and frequent communication.
· Examine Invoices for Key Customer Accounts, identify discrepancies, and resolve account issues with billing team members.
· Build processes with a customer centric focus to streamline the end-to-end process from billing to collecting.
· Possess the judgement to determine appropriate resolution of billing adjustments through credit memos, adjustments, and write-offs.
· Administer and monitor Customer Pay Portals and other methods of invoice delivery to ensure proper submission of invoices.
· Reconcile the A/R subledger and General Ledger.
· Prepare new customer credit application packages for the Controller and CFO.
· Complete new supplier packets and existing supplier compliance requests.
· Seek continuous business process improvement of the A/R function and document procedures accordingly.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
· Detail oriented
· 7-10 years of heavy Accounts Receivable experience
· Must be able to be in the office M-F, 40 hours a week. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
· Possess the ability to use and learn ERP systems and CRM platforms.
· Be able to adapt to different personality types and problem-solve through active listening and empathy.
