The estimated base salary range for this role is “$125,000.00 to $165,000.00” per year.
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors (salary may be adjusted based on geographic location)

Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI) has a job opportunity for a Commercial Sales Area Manager for Latin America. This position reports to the General Manager of Commercial Sales for Eastern U.S. and Latin America. The Area Manager will be responsible for managing a sales team of 12 sales reps and is responsible for selling our complete line of commercial acoustical ceilings and wall-to-wall solutions in multiple countries throughout Central America, the Caribbean, and South America.


Key Responsibilities of the Area Manager for Latin America:

  • Lead team of sales employees in the Latin America region to consistently achieve sales targets: price, volume, and mix for core ceilings, Architectural Specialties, and Suspension Systems.
  • Ensures the sales team is consistently following, engaging, and influencing the largest project opportunities in the region, from the earliest stages to closing the project, with total solution selling being the focus.
  • Analyze relevant information to gain a solid understanding of issues – financial, staff, organization, channel – and ensures that important elements are addressed.
  • Effective, influential relationships with key specifiers and channel customers – Distributor Effectiveness, direct and indirect contractors, and general contractors
  • Consistent achievement of key business drivers – power specs, close rate for Top Ops/Major Projects, New product/sales promotion, pipeline growth, and management through SalesForce.
  • Conduct competitive market intelligence: analyze and adjust positioning to retain and grow market leadership.
  • Analyze sales data and market dynamics to forecast future sales results.
  • Review market analysis to determine customer needs and price schedules.
  • Analyze sales results to formulate sales plans, adjustments, advertising plans, etc.
  • Working with finance and sales leadership to establish a go-to-market strategy, build strategic plans, and set annual operating plans.
  • Analyzing and evaluating channel effectiveness and working with sales leadership to make recommendations and effect change where improvement is needed.
  • Analyze territory performance, remediate issues/problems, and leverage opportunities. As well as lead/implement sales process improvement efforts for customer service guidelines, metrics, and product lead times.
  • Anticipates the future of the business and creatively mobilizes resources to drive change.
  • Values and exhibits safe conduct on the job and is fully compliant with AWI Sales safety initiatives.
  • Manage, train, coach, and develop staff.


Required Qualifications for the Area Manager for Latin America:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of experience in a field sales capacity
  • Proven record of territory management
  • Prior experience creating reports and analyzing metrics to track results, preparing and delivering executive presentations with a head for detail on managing the flow of numbers necessary for managing a multi-million-dollar region.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office Software
  • Demonstrated experience in building products and/or the commercial construction process.
  • Knowledge of Sales software such as [please apply online] Location to be near a major international airport for travel to North, Central, and South America as well as Puerto Rica and the Caribbean.


Preferred Qualifications for the Area Manager for Latin America:

  • Ability to read and speak fluent Spanish.
