Position Details
Curi Bio is a rapidly growing biotech startup company seeking a talented and motivated Technical Sales Manager to join our team. A successful Technical Sales Manager will effectively promote Curi technology platforms to relevant preclinical research customers to achieve revenue targets. Curi Bio has a close-knit team dedicated to customer success, and the sales team works cross-functionally with the marketing, applications, product, and support teams to ensure full customer satisfaction. Communicate with the Director of Sales on ongoing sales activities, market trends, opportunities, and supply revenue forecasts. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills within Curi Bio and externally with customers. The ideal candidate is highly personable with strong empathy skills to understand customers’ challenges and guide them towards the appropriate technical solution.
Responsibilities
Build, scale, and inspire sales strategies that communicate our value proposition and drive product demand to our target audience
Understand customer needs and pain points to provide relevant solutions that best fit their research needs
Manage scientific customer relationships using CRM tools to move sales leads through the funnel
Act as a technical resource to prospective and existing customers, including generating quotes and scheduling product demos
Leverage your knowledge and established network to continually build a pipeline of opportunities and acquire new customers
Collaborate with Marketing, Applications, Product, and Customer Support teams to ensure end-to-end customer success
Aid in pricing optimization and demand forecasting
Attend industry conferences and trade shows to promote Curi products
Design and build out a scalable sales team, including internal and field-based teams with regional and global growth based on market dynamics
Develop, manage, and celebrate success with a dynamic team of sales professionals - driving a winning culture focused on customer success
Perform other related duties and assignments as required
Education / Qualifications
PhD in cell biology, bioengineering, or a related science required. 3-5 year sales experience with a focus on bioinstrumentation capital equipment preferred. Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus. Proven track record in generating new business from pharmaceutical, regulatory, academic and industrial life sciences research institutions.
Skills / Abilities
Proficient with cloud-based CRM tools (ex. Hubspot) and associated integrations
Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and general computer usage
Ability to work alone and as part of a highly-collaborative team in a dynamic environment, with a hands-on, no compromises approach to achieve shared objectives
Ability to nurture client relationships to achieve sales results
Ability to clearly communicate with direct manager and other team members
Skills with cloud-based scheduling and communication tools such as Slack, Hubspot, and Zoom are desirable but not required

Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey, understand, and execute complex technical tasks
Highly personable and outgoing, with strong empathy skills to understand customers’ challenges

Confident speaking/writing to scientists and technicians in English about a technical product

Able to recognize technical challenges and questions, and understand how to best direct them to internal stakeholders to support the customer
Effective communication and teamwork with both direct reports and with upper management
Tenacity and thoroughness in scheduled follow up actions
Continually meets and exceeds expectations, milestones and timelines
