Full description of the position

Spring Hill Suites by Marriott Tampa Brandon Team is seeking a Director of Sales and marketing.

Are you looking for an opportunity with Marriott hotel, is this position for you?

PURPOSE:

This exceptional opportunity is to become a key player on our leadership team at this Marriott brand property and provide inspiring and strategic leadership while directing sales and marketing activities in support of the company's mission, core values, standards, and goals. Supervising the total sales effort of the hotel, including developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, managing sales and catering personnel, and implementing sales and marketing strategies to maximize the hotel's profits while maintaining client and guest satisfaction.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have efficient sales activities experience and advanced knowledge of hotel and events sales, hospitality principles, and practices. Ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information in the sales and marketing field and make logical conclusions and recommendations. Ability to make decisions based on established policies and procedures. Must possess highly developed communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell, and have an aggressive desire to close the deal and an indefatigable work ethic. Computer skills and proficiency in English are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Sales and marketing experience with Marriott brands prefer, or similar.

· Hotel experience in a supervisory capacity.

· Proven success in sales and marketing in select or small full-service hotel properties.

· Excellent leadership skills.

· Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.

· Service-oriented style with professional presentation skills.

· Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service, and ability to improve the bottom line

· Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

· Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
