Position Summary
The Community Outreach Liaison connects clinical partners, clients and families to appropriate clinical resources. The position serves as a liaison and partner to help educate communities, providers, clients and families about eating disorder treatment services. The Community Outreach Liaison supports local admissions acting as a concierge welcoming incoming clients, families, and clinical partners to the facility.
This role is hybrid with up to 50% travel.
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Maintains frequent and close working relationships with clients and families, facility and national leadership teams, and peers throughout the organization.
Outside the organization: Initiates and maintains strong professional relationships with clinical providers, referral partners and vendors, as needed.
Position Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborates with local and national leadership team members to identify and cultivate strong community partnerships, elevating the facilitys presence in the local market.
- Target follow-up meetings with all key referral sources ensuring internal and external obstacles to growth and retention are identified, minimized, and/or eliminated.
- Schedules and conducts tours with referral sources, clients and families.
- Communicates various levels of care to potential clients, families, and referral sources.
- Guides clients and families toward appropriate treatment options, effectively highlighting the benefits of treatment at the Outpatient Center in Richmond, VA in relation to the clients individual needs and circumstances;
- Obtains necessary information to quickly determine viability of potential admission,
- Resolves challenges posed by clients and families ambivalent about committing to necessary and beneficial treatment options,
- Empathically but prescriptively leading callers to the next step of deciding on admission,
- Determines the clinical and financial viability of potential admissions,
- Articulates the value and fit of facility programming to each potential clients circumstances and needs.
- Utilizes appropriate bonding techniques to establish rapport, build relationships, and enhance customer service and support.
- Offers a high level of customer service and communication to referral sources, clients and families.
- Partners with admissions decision-makers and stakeholders including client, family members, professional referral sources, facility administration, clinical leadership, admitting physicians and utilization review coordinators.
- Coordinates with the business office and Utilization Review to determine financing options for potential clients.
Additional Responsibilities
- Functions within the guidelines of the facilitys Code of Ethics and in accordance with corporate compliance.
- Follows established principles of call flow and follow up processes.
- Assists in promoting and ensuring the organizations mission, goals and objectives are understood and actively supported by the employees.
- Completes all necessary paperwork, record keeping, and reporting related to the admissions process.
- Completes follow-up activities in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
Position requires a bachelors degree, Master degree preferred, and 2+ years of related experience in clinical admissions and business development in a healthcare setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers/general public, clients and/or vendors
- Tolerant to various noise levels: noise level in the work environment varies may be very quiet to moderate
- Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building as well as sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste or smell.
- Ability to move 25 pounds
- May require the ability to travel in a car for more than one hour and additionally may require some overnight travel as needed.
Other Requirements
Position requires incumbent to have a valid drivers license, vehicle insurance and a clear driving record for the last three years.
