Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Structural or Industrial Engineering or related field.
Experience Requirements
1+ years Product Development experience in a manufacturing organization.
1+ years Technical field work, installation, sales or other customer-facing experience.
Qualifications
- Ability to troubleshoot technical product issues via phone or in person
- Great interpersonal skills – high level of professional, ethical and personal conduct
- Strong skills in: prospecting, active listening, questioning, uncovering problems or client objectives, uncovering budget, understanding the prospect’s decision making process, proposal development and presentation, account retention, negotiation, verbal and written communication
- Excellent problem solving and time management skills
- Highly detail oriented, able to set priorities and manage multiple tasks
- Self-motivated and a team player
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Responsibilities
The Sales Engineer will design, develop and help sell technical Company products. They will work closely with Sales, Marketing and Engineering to identify customer needs and modify or develop products and services to meet those needs. The Sales Engineer will meet with new or existing customers and provide quotes and proposals to satisfy their requirements. They will troubleshoot products either in person or via phone, and assist customers with product installations as needed.
Essential Functions
- Act as a primary technical resource and sales contact for assigned products.
- Partner with the sales team to meet growth and profit goals.
- Perform market research to identify new sales or product development prospects.
- Play key role in the new product development process.
- Establish effective relationships, both internal and external.
- Provide quotes, proposals, engineering drawings and ideas to both customers and sales personnel.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations.
- Develop product documentation and sales kits.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and incorporate them into company product lines.
- Maintain customer information, files and notes within the CRM system.
