Alpha Structural is the #1 design/build Foundation and Structural Repair company in Los Angeles. We have been in business for 30 years and are the best at what we do. We have been expanding very fast and are branching out to Orange County immediately.

We are looking for a Sales Engineer for our position as Structural Assessor. This is a highly technical position with an uncapped income potential. It embraces engineering design, construction, and problem solving.

The position is for a field Structural Assessor. You will be investigating, diagnosing and recommending solutions for failed foundations, structural retrofitting, soft story retrofits, URM retrofits, retaining walls, shear walls and other structural repairs to ultimately create budgets and bids for work. Alpha scopes include residential and commercial. We create a structured schedule of appointments for you, and you generate bids for work. There is no cold calling and our leads are hot.

Hands-on construction/field experience is required.

You will be trained in our structural specialties regarding foundations, structural upgrades and retrofitting that we have been delivering for 30 years. Training pay is based on advanced draws, and negotiable depending on experience.

After training this position is a 100% commission-based role. There are no caps and the earning potential is better than anywhere else in the industry.

Alpha Structural, Inc is a General Engineering Contractor with in-house Structural Engineers, CAD Drafters, Permit Expeditors and 30 experienced in-house crews to deliver the structural repair solutions.

We are looking for a competent, bright and driven person with excellent communication and people skills.

MUST BE PHYSICALLY ABLE TO FULLY INSPECT PROPERTIES INCLUDING UNDER-HOUSE/BUILDING CRAWL SPACES, AND ATTICS.

Must own your own vehicle and have a valid driver's license.

Education

• AS/BS/MS in Civil/Structural Engineering or Geology/Geotechnical Engineering or Architectural with structural background

Responsibilities

• Assessing failing structures and determining labor and material costs for repair
• Must be physically able to fully inspect structures including under-house crawl spaces
• Inspect active jobsites and advise/correct any problems as needed
• Quickly design solutions and create bids for work and present to prospective clients
• Coordinating with our Engineering and Construction teams to ensure projects go smoothly
• Meeting sales quotas
• Negotiating contracts for new business
• Stay up-to-date on building codes and ordinances

Skills

• Construction and Engineering estimating
• Experience and knowledge in foundations, structural concrete, waterproofing, and general building
• Great verbal and written communication
• Good understanding of city planning and permitting process
• Understanding of soils and geology as they relate to foundation design
• Working knowledge of construction crew capabilities
• Detail oriented
• Great working relationships
• Goal oriented
• Familiar with UBC, CBC, LABC, hillside building codes
• Bilingual or multilingual is preferred

Requirements

• 10 years minimum experience in field engineering or construction
• 5 years minimum experience in sales / contract negotiations
• 5 years minimum experience in construction estimating
• Must speak and read/write fluently in English

Pay: $78,000.00 - $400,000.00 per year
