WAGES & BENEFITS: $19.23 - $21.63 hourly; generous paid time off policy, plus 10 paid holidays per year, 2 floating holidays, and an additional week of paid time off for the week between Christmas and New Year’s; medical, dental, and vision insurance plans; $2,000 annual employer contribution to Health Savings Account; short- and long-term disability insurance; agency-paid life insurance and optional additional life insurance; retirement plan with employer matching on first 4% with immediate vesting. Eligibility for benefits begins the first of the month after date of hire.
JOB SUMMARY: NEON's mission is to build wealth for low-to-moderate-income entrepreneurs in North Minneapolis and the surrounding communities. Our vision is to transform North Minneapolis and the surrounding area into a prosperous, visible, sustainable, and highly diverse multicultural community of entrepreneurs. We work with individuals at various stages of entrepreneurship - from "information seekers" to existing business entities, providing a roadmap to start, grow and thrive as scalable businesses. We offer spaces to work, expert guidance from NEON Business Advisors, mentorship, business incubation, development, training, and workshops.
The Business Development Coordinator acts as an administrative assistant for the Business Development team at NEON. The Business Development team serves NEON clients as they begin their entrepreneurial journey, all the way through strategies to grow and expand their business. The Coordinator acts as an integral part of the team, improving efficiency, developing and improving administrative systems, assisting with scheduling meetings and events, completing various administrative tasks in support of the team, and directly interfacing with NEON clients.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Support
- Communicate with NEON clients for intake, onboarding, and program communication.
- Connect with NEON clients prior to and following classes, training, and programs.
- Assist clients to complete application and setup presence in the client portal.
- Print and organize paper documents for use by the department and clients.
- Answer phone calls, field questions and connect clients with the correct member of the Business Development team.
- Complete data entry as needed.
Business Development Team Coordination
- Develop and improve administrative systems and procedures for the Business Development team to improve efficiency and maintain accurate record keeping.
- Manage program schedules for the department, keeping team calendars up to date with upcoming events and details.
- Assist with setup and tear-down of department events.
- Facilitate communication with agency partners to arrange, plan and execute events.
- Manage program schedule.
- Take notes during meetings, programs, and training sessions.
- Create, organize, and manage the NEON Resources Toolbox.
- Interact in person, virtual, by phone, and through email with a variety of individuals from clients to collaborative partners daily.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in relevant field preferred.
- Two years of experience in an administrative support role preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
