We are seeking an Estimating and Bid Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time position with benefits. As a team member, you will work in a schedule-driven, collaborative environment, working closely with our clients, where timing is a critical function. You must be able to manage budgets and avoid delay costs. You must also possess a high degree of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.

Additional Responsibilities & Expectations:

• Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Maintain contact and relationships with contractors and municipalities.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements.
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
• Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintain a cost database.
• Continually improve technical knowledge by attending training and reviewing technical publications.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job requirements:

• Strong analytic abilities
• Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and word processing programs
• Ability to coordinate and work independently
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, technical or legal programs, or at least six years industrial experience procuring specialized process equipment on multidiscipline projects; or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents, including specifications and drawings.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite.
• Ability to interact with engineers, designers, clients, vendors, and technical resources.
• Ability to negotiate and interpret contracts and handle vendor conflicts as they occur.
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, you would be required to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, lift and move up to 25 pounds.

The job will generally be performed in an office environment but may require travel to visit a local client office, production facility, or industry tradeshow.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
