Full description of the position

PURPOSE
  • The Corporate Account Manager is responsible for representing SMC in all business activities associated with customer global account support.
  • This senior level sales position has the responsibility to create and develop on-going business relationships to increase market share and obtain growth by creating and sustaining a long-term relationship between the customer and SMC. The customer will be a corporate account that requires
  • a coordinated sales and service effort by several individuals within SMC on a national and/or global scale. This person will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of the customer's business and technological requirements, and for aligning SMC resources with the
  • customer's objectives to obtain mutual success, while at the same time communicating progress and overall situation to SMC management. This position will require an individual that can maintain and convey a positive professional attitude among peers and to customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Retains and profitably grows sales through proactive management of top corporate accounts.
  • Drive SMC specification at the customer level.
  • Presents all of SMCs capabilities, services and products to top decision makers of corporate accounts.
  • Serves as the primary contact for assigned corporate account customers and is responsible for customer satisfaction.
  • Represents customers needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality.
  • Leads all aspects of the sales process, calling upon others to assist in solution development, hosting regular conference calls, etc.
  • Proactively manages customers satisfaction and service delivery by anticipating potential service problems, and monitoring satisfaction.
  • Completes detailed SAP and forecasts as required
  • Maintains/creates very strong and deep-rooted relationships with key decision makers within designated corporate accounts; recognized and respected by customers top management team within the corporate account.
  • Effectively utilize SMC tools and resources to ensure organizational consistency and efficiency
  • Complete market reports as new and relevant information becomes available.
  • Manage SMC assets appropriately and be able to successfully calculate ROI using the RINGI process.
  • Have passed all Pneumatic theory and other technical training required by SMC.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing
  • personal networks; participating in professional associations.
  • Communicate and teach SMC sales philosophy, strategies, and tactics to other SMC employees. Coaching/mentoring experiences with less senior sales staff and peers with a focus on the plant level salespeople at the corporate acct.
  • Consistent and timely communication with the key decision makers of the customer, including related OEMs, engineering firms,
  • subcontractors, etc.
  • Developing and implementing a sales channel strategy that meets the needs of the corporate account.
  • Identifying new projects and opportunities at customer such as plant expansions, machinery purchases, improvements, etc.
  • Implementing complex pricing proposal and agreements that satisfy customer requests while maintaining profitability for SMC, including global agreements.
  • Document sales calls, projects, opportunities, contacts, success reports and activity in CRM.
  • Successfully complete other duties as prescribed by Branch Manager, Global Industry Manager and Industry Sales Manager.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Fast paced environment (includes both office and field work)
  • Travel with some extended stay away from home
  • Physically capable of lifting SMC products and displays up to 50 lbs.
  • Varying work hours
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years sales experience with SMC or equivalent industry sales experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of SMC product lines, comprehensive understanding of pneumatic components and their application.
  • Thorough understanding of SMC policies and procedures.
  • Detailed understanding of competitive product lines.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and ability to learn new programs and tools as required
  • Clean driving record
