Overview: The Account Manager is responsible for the day-to-day account management for small to mid-sized clients.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Manages an assigned book of business and builds, expands, and solidifies relationships with existing clients
- Responsible for the day-to-day account management for assigned client accounts
- Assists in addressing the client's risk/capital management needs
- Secures existing business and suggests additional services and coverage levels
- Manages the renewal process for the client and leading the bidding process
- Conducts analysis and comparison of proposals to make recommendations
- Assists with submission of Request for Proposals (RFP) as needed
- Responsible for routine benchmarking and preparation of spreadsheets utilizing data from quotes
- Oversee implementation schedule, complete required paperwork and work with the client to understand and communicate benefits
- Responsible for business agreement process and management of document changes and revisions based on client requirements
- Coordinate, manage, and maintain the online enrollment system for clients
- Educate clients on new and existing online enrollment system features and services
- Continuously keeping up with industry trends and best practices while identifying opportunities for clients to use this information
- Considered a professional in all aspects of employee benefits by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks; participating in professional organizations and is knowledgeable regarding laws and regulations
- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Accountable for creating, updating and following all processes and procedures related to areas of responsibility
Requirements:
- Life and Health Insurance License
- A bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field OR
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or other related certifications/designations OR
- Any similar combination of education and experience.
