Full description of the position

Currently, we are seeking a Support/Training Sales Supervisor for our Industrial Sales Administration Department.

Position Purpose

Working under general direction of the Director of Sales, this position’s role is to plan, coordinate, and supervise inside sales support, providing sales recommendations, technical interpretations and training to inside sales staff, regional sales management, representative and distributor network for the application of company products within a wide range of application opportunities.

Essential Job Functions (primary duties and outputs of position)

  • Provide application advice and technical interpretations of the Company’s product line to representatives, distributors, and customers.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and respond to incoming inquiries on unique or atypical product applications as requested or required by field sales personnel.
  • Communicate with customer and field sales personnel regarding schedule changes, technical follow-ups, and production progress. Negotiate new schedules when needed, document and communicate to the Company changes as agreed.
  • Provide product knowledge training to representatives, distributors, inside sales, order entry, and end users. Organize and lead product knowledge workshops.
  • Identify and create work procedures and/or procedure improvements for order entry and inside sales, working with other departments as needed. Resolve issues that surface within department.
  • Implement and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure customer and sales firm satisfaction.
  • Determine pricing for non-standard, atypical products. Provide directions to order entry regarding unique or non-standard customer requirements.
  • Coordinate and assign work among staff to ensure same day responsiveness to all incoming customer inquiries.
  • Work on special projects as assigned by Director of Sales.

Staff Management

  • Recommend organizational structure needed to implement the strategic business plan.
  • Identify and select staff to meet the needs of their organization in compliance with company policy and federal and state laws.
  • Develop staff incorporating training and skill development.
  • Appraise staff timely and accurately. Work with management and Human Resources to handle any performance-related problem.

Financial Management:

  • Recommend departmental budgets and operation expenses; may include supplies, materials, and services.
  • Administer respective department budget.
  • Implement the department compensation program.

Communication Management

  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain effective and constructive working relationships with others both internally and externally.
  • Prepare effective reports and presentation of departmental information.

Safety

  • Follow safe work practices, participate in safety training as required, and report any unsafe condition or accident.

Quality

  • Employees are responsible to understand and support the quality policy and the appropriate elements of the quality management system for their areas of work, reduce, eliminate, and prevent quality deficiencies including escapes.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities related to product, process, and quality system.
  • All employees have the responsibility and authority to identify quality deficiencies, elevate any concerns for action within or related to our quality system and processes.

Communication

  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain effective and constructive working relationships with others both internally and externally.

Education/Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering (electrical or mechanical) or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of inside sales or technical service experience in a technical environment, preferably in process control products and applications
  • 2+ years’ lead experience.
  • Ability to read technical drawings for instrument installation.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Company’s product line and process control.
  • Experience using an ERP system, SyteLine preferred.
  • Experience using a CRM system
  • Experience using application evaluation and part-number configuration software.
  • Experience using MS Office products

Physical/Travel Requirements

This position requires being able to sit and perform computer work for up to 85% of the time. Standing and walking may be required up to 15% of the time.

Pay Range: $67,000.00 to $76,000.00 annual

Compensation may vary based on related skills, experience, and relevant key attributes.
