AECOM is seeking a self-starter and experienced Business Development Leader to drive growth for our Denver and Colorado Transportation business. This external facing leader will represent AECOM in the marketplace and oversee business development, sales, and strategy for all sectors of transportation including Highways & Bridges, Transit & Rail, Traffic/ITS, Aviation, and Construction Management.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

The right candidate will need to be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with other senior leadership and mentor staff in a fast pace setting to support business development, marketing and communications, capture management, and strategy. The ideal person must be able to verbally and visually communicate their ideas clearly and convincingly to peers and senior leadership.

The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

• Help build a strong and thriving culture in AECOM Colorado Transportation that promotes equity, diversity, & inclusion, sustainability, and innovation; while preserving technical excellency in our core competencies.

• In collaboration with senior leadership, develop and own the long-term vision for sustained growth of AECOM’s transportation business in Colorado.

• Collaborate with the senior leadership team in the US West Transportation on driving strategic growth initiatives throughout the region.

• Work with the US West Transportation growth team in developing annual strategic plan to set targets and goals for the fiscal year, and own the Awards and Bookings KPIs.

• Oversee the capture process for key pursuits in Colorado to ensure best practices are being adhered to, and continuously improve capture results.

• Lead the client account management program for key clients.

• Help organize and track civic engagement activities.

• Be responsible for holding regular business development meetings with all relevant staff and ensure frequent and regular communication.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors Degree and 10+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

• Experience in business development, and strong existing relationships with transportation agencies Colorado

• Experience in Project Management within Transportation in Colorado.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in planning, engineering, or a related field

• 15+ years of related experience

• Strong understanding of best practices in business development for professional services

• Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

• Ability to communicate problems clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff

• Ability to balance various project and company responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality.

• Professional certification(s) in the established discipline, such as being a Professional Engineer or Planner

Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation for this role in Colorado will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $230,000 annually.
