Position Overview

Primary responsibilities are the management of new and existing business at a major automotive Tier 1 suppliers. This includes prospecting new business, managing existing business and production changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with engineering, quality and purchasing contacts within the Tier 1.
• Understand the new business opportunities in existing commodities, sourcing timing and key deliverables at the Customer. Functional plastics and assemblies.
• Understand, develop strategy and relationships in the engineering and purchasing groups within the Customer to promote Viking Plastics product offerings.
• Strengthen relationships with our Tier 1 customers supplying HVAC, thermal, kinematics, fluid handling, battery, and steering injection molded components.
• Support the management team in forecasting current business, developing sales pipeline, quotes, engineering changes and marketing efforts.

Additional Responsibilities

• Monitoring supplier portal for PO’s, quotes and capacity planning.
• Coordinating customer feedback, concerns and customer visits
• Understand the Viking Plastics product portfolio, process capabilities and positioning strengths.
• Background of engineering or sales of injection molded components and assemblies.
• Know Viking Plastics competitors, SWAT analysis.
• Manage customer contact information, leads and opportunities in CRM.
• Contract review
• Work with cost estimating and engineering department to obtain all key information required to competitively quote new opportunities.
• Presentations, Tech Reviews, quote preparation for customer review.

Job Requirements

• 5-10 years automotive or plastics experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or marketing
• Knowledge of injection molding
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Experience in quoting, engineering interface and relationship building.
• Results and growth oriented.
• Natural energy and problem solving skills.
• Located in Michigan, Ohio or Kentucky.
