Full description of the position

1. Over The Counter Walk-In Sales

a. Write and enter customer orders into our computer system quickly and accurately.

b. Answer all customers questions such as availability, pricing, lead times, technical support and if need be our delivery schedule.

c. Provide accurate price quotes based on accurate pricing information

d. Verify the customers purchase orders and their requirements for the order

e. Check the customer’s credit if applicable

f. Pull orders from the warehouse and outside yard area in an accurate and timely manner so that they are not waiting long.

2. Phone Sales

a. Answer all incoming calls, no matter if it is direct to your phone or to the general irrigation sales counter

b. Any messages that are left in your voicemail must be returned within an hour. All callbacks that need to be made after that first contact must be made before you leave for the day.

3. Communications and Customer Service

a. Be courteous and attentive to all customers at all times.

b. Provide all the assistance you can to any customer, not just irrigation customers

c. Do not use any language that may be offensive to our customers, if you need clarification on this, ask your branch manager

d. Be on time to work and ready to work. Personal cell phones are allowed but can only be used during breaks unless an emergency or urgent matter.

4. Purchasing Communication

a. Maintain a good working relationship with the purchasing department

b. Notify them of any discrepancies that you observe such as a receiving error, wrong products shipped, low inventory or stock amount discrepancies

5. Deliveries

a. Making deliveries of orders that have been placed with us as needed.

b. Doing so in a safe, courteous and careful manner

c. Bringing back a signed copy of the packing list

6. General Items

a. Keep all bins, shelves and racks stocked at least once a day

b. You will often need to operate the forklift, make deliveries and load up customers with the products that they have purchased. This will require that you are physically able to routinely lift over 50 pounds, be able to deal with awkward items such as pipe, cast iron valves and rolls of wire, be able to get in and out of motorized vehicles and be completely aware of your surroundings for safety

c. Write, enter and pull warehouse transfers accurately to send to our other locations

d. Process customer’s product warranty claims. Accurately determine if the defective product is within the warranty period, enter a warranty claim into our system and label the product for return to the manufacturer.

e. Process any orders for shipment in our system for UPS. You will be required weigh, input the correct address and print a shipping label within the UPS system.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
