Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Director of Dealer Sales to join our TEAM! As the Director of Dealer Sales, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as develop long range strategic goals, manage and develop strategic sales and marketing programs for dealers and direct sales activity of the Dal-Tile SSC team.
Primary Objective:
Develops, manages, and guides the sales programs and activities of major dealer buying groups. Directs the activities of the General Sales Managers (GSM’s) in support of national dealer programs. Manages and executes strategic sales and marketing programs to achieve maximum sales across all brands in the specialty retail dealer segment.
Major Function and Scope:
  • Annually develop long-range strategic goals and objectives the major dealer buyer groups across the residential segments.
  • Manages and develops comprehensive strategic sales and marketing programs for dealers (corporate to corporate relationships)
  • Direct the sales activity of the Dal-Tile SSC sales team through the General Sales Manager’s (GSM’s) Dealer.
  • Engage the General Sales Manager (GSM), in support of corporate dealer programs.
  • Coordinates and manages corporate sales objectives with SMOG (slow moving & obsolete inventory)
  • Develops, communicates and implements pricing strategy for the dealer buying groups.
  • Coordinate activities with Statements Elite Dealer Program.
  • Manages all activities of the programs between the buying group, its members, other strategic dealer customers, and the company.
  • Develops annual and long-range strategic pricing for internet sales (MAP – minimum advertised pricing).
  • Implements and communicates the programs to the company’s sales organization through trade shows, educational seminars, and by participating in sales calls and customer visits.
  • Manages buying group incentive programs, marketing needs and program budgets. Including expenditures and appropriations for new program implementations.
  • Monitors and evaluates the sales programs and products of the competition.
  • Analyzes and controls organization expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Participates in training of dealers and company’s sales organization.
  • Helps to Develop and implement various sampling programs as required.
  • Prepares periodic management reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of expansion.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field required, or equivalent work experience. Working knowledge of floor covering products, retail sales and retails showrooms.
  • 5 years sales and marketing experience for a retail floor covering dealer, manufacturer, or similar product showroom. Experience in managing sales personnel (Large Sales Team).
Competencies:
  • Strong leadership, organizational and strategic planning skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation, problem solving and the ability to multi-task.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software including proficiency in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of effective merchandising, sampling and sales techniques. Strong management skills of sales staff and department.
