As the Account Manager, you will create and cultivate business relationships for Toyota in North America along with supporting the JMP Integration & Engineering Services (I&ES) Branches. The role requires client interaction as well as internal communication to exceed sales quotas, manage client activities across JMP, act as a client advocate, establish and develop sales channels, and adhere to the sales process, including mastering the use of [please apply online] As the Account Manager, you will represent all JMP’s core offerings in addition to the offerings of other Convergix Automation businesses such as Classic Design. Working within or beyond your local boundaries you will work across the organization to identify and realize cross-selling opportunities across the Convergix portfolio with a focus on supporting the JMP Branches for Controls Integration Services. All this while continuing our momentum and helping us deliver on our promise to do what we say we’ll do. Every time. All the time.
Ideally this position will be based within the proximity of Lexington, Kentucky, however there is flexibility to be located elsewhere with the ability to travel to all JMP targeted external client locations throughout Canada and the US.
What Would a Typical Day Look Like?
- Focus on Face time with Toyota and our JMP team onsite
- Focus on supporting the JMP I&ES sales functions throughout the JMP branches
- Drive new and deepen existing business relationships for Toyota and other customers, using our internal ERP system and SalesForce.com to record sales activities and track pipelines on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Expectation to be present at Toyota facilities (Kentucky, Alabama, Texas, Indiana and Ontario, Canada)
- Manage overall execution and delivery of projects from a high level, including standards adherence, risk mitigation, resource planning assistance, and senior management updates.
- Identify and develop relationships with PLC/DCS OEMs, channel partners, technology partners (e.g., AGVs, collaborative and standard 6-axis robotics, Vision Inspection, Dispense) as well as with installation multi-trades salespeople and operations leaders to gain warm introductions in new accounts and leverage these relationships to grow in existing accounts
- Bubbling up opportunities that may be a fit for another Business Unit within Convergix with your Sales Director to support Cross Selling.
- Participate in business planning and visioning by utilizing your market knowledge to provide direction, advice and support at Quarterly Management Meetings and Strategic Planning Meetings annually
What Qualifies You for this Opportunity?
- Outgoing, Proactive and Organized
- Degree or Diploma preferred. Strong preference will be given to those with an Engineering background.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas within the Industrial Automation industry
- Demonstrated track record of the creation and execution of a plan resulting in specific sales growth within a specific industry
- Automotive experience is required
- Proven experience and established network of business contacts and clients in the Automation industry is preferred
- Experience with Controls Integration is required. Robotic Automation is preferred.
- Great sales and business acumen and understanding of common sales processes; formal sales training is a plus
- Ability to communicate across the company between Business Units in order to cross sell
- Great technical acumen is required
- Strong leadership skills and ability to persuade others
- Willingness to accept responsibility and accountability
- Ability to overcome challenges and handle complex situations
- High integrity and commitment to delivering value to customers
- High degree of self-confidence and self-awareness

- Given the client-focused nature of the work, employees may be required to work over weekends or outside of standard business hours as needed and travel throughout Canada / USA. There will be regular travel to Kentucky, Alabama, Texas, Indiana and Ontario, Canada.
