Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. is seeking a Sales Account Manager for our manufacturing facilities in the Midwest and Northeast Region. This Sales Account Manager position is responsible for selling liquid carbon dioxide, related applications and equipment to food, beverage and industrial/manufacturing related customers and markets. Supporting CO2 liquefaction plants that are in Milton, WI, Monroe, WI, Union City, IN, Marion, IN and Medina, NY. This is a residence-based position, and the candidate must live in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, New York, or Pennsylvania


Primary responsibilities:

  • Existing Customer Account Management - Managing Customer Relationships, Customer Value Creation, Wallet Share Growth, Profit Management
  • New Business Development - Selling N. America CO2 portfolio of Product, Equipment and Services to amenable Market, including New to Market and Competitive Account Prospects
  • Travel - Overnight travel will be expected

Principal accountabilities:

  • Strong emphasis on prospecting including high rate of daily call activity and prompt Direct Marketing follow-up
  • Establish a network of referrals to develop opportunity pipeline growth
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospects and customers
  • Utilize DPP&L and maintain CRM tools
  • Leverage internal resources (e.g., Commercial Technology, Product Management, Project Engineering, Logistics)
  • Follow industry trends related to products and services within territory activities
  • Support Air Products’ marketing efforts, such as seminars and trade show demonstrations

Required qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in business or engineering, or equivalent experience with strong technical aptitude
  • 3-4 years of successfully demonstrated sales experience and portfolio management
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Self-motivated and positive demeanor
  • Strong understanding of business risks and opportunities
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead all facets of the sales process including but not limited to;
  • Prospecting
  • Preparing/Presenting Proposals and Contracts
  • Negotiating

Preferred qualifications:

  • CO2, food industry knowledge or industrial gas experience
