What does a Territory Technical Sales Manager do at Rinnai?
Implementation of sales and technical product service strategies to ensure achievement of sales targets and service network objectives within a pre-defined area of responsibility. The technical sales manager will provide support for all segments with a focus on both commercial and residential. The position will provide product trainings, development and education of our dealer network, A&E strategy development, and field support of key project opportunities across all product categories.
- Territory: This position will manage a territory that includes Salt Lake City and surrounding areas.
What you will do:
RESPONSIBILITIES
SALES MANAGEMENT
- Responsible for achieving sales targets, strategies, and tactics for a specified territory.
- Responsible for achieving training and dealer development goals within the specified territory.
- Responsible for conducting and/or coordinating ongoing comprehensive product and sales training to all channel partners to include distributors, contractors/dealers, manufacturer representatives, engineers, architects, designers, builders, and others as prescribed by Regional Sales Director.
- Assist in the development of new business opportunities in all sales channels to include, but not limited to, Residential New Construction, Commercial, Energy and Heating.
- Responsible for the promotion of the Rinnai product at various trade shows, “lunch and learns”, counter days, etc.
- Develop and Execute an Architect &Engineering Strategy conducting “lunch and learns” in order to gain project specifications in assigned geography.
- Provide on a quarterly basis a detailed account of all training, competitive intelligence, product requirements, and pertinent information as prescribed by Regional Sales Manager and as outlined the Market Summary Document Template.
- Travel to support sales targets and responsibilities. Time and expenses to be managed based on needs and expectations of specified area.
- Assist in the preparation of annual and monthly sales forecast.
- Implement all strategies and tactics as prescribed by Regional Sales Manager.
SERVICE MANAGEMENT
- Establish and manage an authorized service network within the region of responsibility for in home/onsite service of product manufactured and sold by Rinnai.
o Negotiation of all labor rates for authorized service agreements within the region of responsibility
o Monitor the quality of service being provided by authorized service agents and where necessary develop individual improvement programs for identified service agents not performing to required standards
- Provide ongoing technical training to customers, Installers, and authorized Service agents.
- Provide support, as needed, in addressing and resolving escalated field product performance issues
- Serve as liaison between the field and Rinnai’s Engineering department in the identification of possible performance or quality issues and gathering of information in support of the same
- Provide support on major product install projects ensuring proper sizing and correct installation of products used in the project
- Interface with local code officials to address and work through identified code issues
- Represent Rinnai on off site visits and/or liability investigations as required.

REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of sales and sales management experience
- Industry knowledge including but not limited to Plumbing, HVAC, Residential New Construction, Commercial, and Energy.
- Aggressive and seasoned in sales development, management, and direct selling with quantified results.
- Proficient use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various web-based tools.
- Understanding of the changing marketplace and ability to adapt to change

Physical Activities
