The Opportunity

This role reports directly into the Director of Strategy & Business Development and is responsible for relationship and business case development initiatives. The role oversees existing partner agreements, assisting with ventures and forming new partnership agreements, evaluating products, features and enabling technologies, as well as managing operational efficiency projects. This role will contribute to the ideation, innovation, business case development, execution of profit and loss valuation models, and strategy for revenue-generating programs as well as cost-saving initiatives (e.g., Ally Invest’s strategic direction program).


The Work Itself

  • Supports the Director of Strategy & Business Development to grow Ally Invest by providing recommendations and analysis of both revenue-generating and cost-saving initiatives and product offering perspectives
  • Supports the Director of Strategy & Business Development in managing all third-party partnerships through the partnership lifecycle from business case valuation, contract negotiating, due diligence, contract execution, product & services delivery, financial forecasting, and tracking of partner spend.
    • Responsible for completing risk management activities such as filing Due Diligence forms, completing risk assessments and processing all partner agreements and/or contracts through Ally’s supply chain management for company approval
    • Attends presentations and meetings with compliance and legal to reach an agreement and action items that need to be refined, recorded, and approved from a regulatory perspective; acts as Compliance liaison to ensure alignments across entities for regulatory compliance
    • Administers and reviews partnership business agreements with compliance and legal to ensure potential partners follow protocols and compliance standards, escalates to compliance and legal as needed, and resolves conflicts as they arise
    • Ensures Ally Invest partners meet the expectations of the business and that products and services are delivered on-time by coordinating daily and/or weekly meetings and facilitating consistent communication across teams regarding project status, milestones, or changes to project plans to Ally Invest

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or +3 years of relevant experience in financial services and/or management consulting and/or strategic business development, preferably in the capital markets space
  • Knowledgeable on the retail capital markets landscape including familiarity with competition (broker-dealers), platform and product trends, brokerage, and the broader FinTech space
  • Ethical operator who manages risk, knows how to operate in a highly-regulated industry, adheres to all laws and regulations, and agrees to continuous education on the ever-changing financial services and brokerage regulations
  • A client-centric, do-the-right-thing attitude that considers the client's point of view for all actions
  • Ability to lead change and interact effectively with business partners as well as all levels of management by possessing strong oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Creative individual who can be both strategic and tactical
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills and ability to deal with internal and external resources across various lines of business and support functions
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) with strong excel skills preferably with experience in generating various business case and valuation models
