Company DescriptionNatural Pet Essentials is a locally-owned, woman operated natural pet supply store and self dog located on the north side of Charlottesville. We are passionate about pet nutrition and strive to be the go-to for all local dogs and cats and their essential needs. We individually select superior products that fit our strict guidelines for quality and safety. Customers frequent Natural Pet Essentials because they know they can feel safe purchasing any of our products including, but not limited to, all-natural, healthy pet food, treats, supplements, and high quality toys, beds, collars, leashes, grooming supplies, and gifts for pet lovers. Our customers are like an extended part of our family and have been frequenting our store for a decade and it is our goal to continue to provide the very best customer service and products that are unmatched anywhere else.Natural Pet Essentials provides employees the opportunity to make a living wage and we believe in working hard while having fun and giving back to our community. We will provide on-the-job training and teach you everything you need to know to help our customers make the best decisions for their pets.Essential functions:*Customer Service - Provide exceptional customer service by offering a warm and welcoming greeting upon entrance of the establishment, assessing customers' needs, being friendly and courteous to customers and their pets, assisting customers with heavy products and large orders to their vehicles, and answering the phone in a friendly and professional manner.*Sales - Assist customers in finding items, perform duties at the register, and help customers to their vehicles.*Nutrition - Demonstrate eagerness and ability to learn about and understand pet nutrition and communicate this information to customers.*Merchandising - Strategically arrange and showcase merchandise on shelving units and slatwall in a creative and organized manner.*Inventory - Perform duties related to inventory of products, including receiving items into the POS system, tagging and pricing inventory, restocking, organizing and maintenance of stock room, counting, and reconciling.*Cleaning - Perform routine cleaning procedures, keep the store neat and tidy, and immediate clean-up of pet accidents. Cleaning also includes sanitizing and cleaning of tubs after self dog wash customers. *Pet Care - Willingness to care for the shop cat and foster cats from local rescue, including feeding, providing fresh water, cleaning the litter box, medicating, and overall basic pet care.*Misc - Must be self-motivated, friendly, punctual, reliable, organized, enthusiastic, and above all, you MUST LOVE PETS!Requirements:*Must be able to lift 50 lbs.How to apply:*Submit resume via email or in person - do not call. *Misc - Must be self-motivated, friendly, punctual, reliable, organized, enthusiastic, and above all, you MUST LOVE PETS!
