Commercial Lines Account Manager

Department: P&C

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Grade/Level: Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8-5

Job Status: Full Time

Reports To: Michele Davis, Operations Manager

Amount of Travel Required: Less than 5%

POSITION SUMMARY

Market, Structure & Sell and Manage commercial insurance programs such as general liability, business auto, workers comp, professional liability, life, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s):

  • Quote, sell and prepare proposals for all lines of coverage associated with Commercial Lines new and renewal directly as agent or in assistance with Producer.
  • Manage 200k book of business (revenue)
  • Serve accounts with 50k-300k in premiums.
  • Work with carriers such as Auto Owners, Erie, Travelers, Chubb, CNA, Philidelphia, etc.
  • Work proficiently in Applied EPIC.
  • Obtain all necessary information to complete applications.
  • Follow procedures to write a minimum of two lines of business for each client.
  • Be involved in active account development program to round out all clients such as business, life, disability, etc.
  • Know the underwriting and rating procedures for each company. Provide companies with any information requested in a timely manner.
  • Meet with clients to discuss and advise them with their insurance needs or concerns.
  • Assist agency with collections of premiums and proper recording in Vision system.
  • Process daily mail for assigned accounts.
  • Process cancellations and endorsements as requested.
  • Complete and submit change request on company websites or on company system.
  • Process telephone request for assigned accounts.
  • Accurately document all conversations, changes, revisions, etc. necessary in Vision for prevention of errors and omissions claim.
  • Review Company produced policies and endorsements for accuracy.
  • Maintain your Uniform Desktop system in timely manner.
  • Keep Producers informed of activity of insured as warranted.
  • Process claim reports and system claims information as required. Assist clients and claimants in whatever it takes to settle their claim.
  • Assist or train other CSR's as needed.
  • Review all applications, renewal requests and endorsements for compliance with agency guidelines. Re-underwriting is a daily task and should be done continuously.
  • Maintain a current level of knowledge on rated, forms and coverage changes that apply to your division.
  • Participate in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development.
  • Review non-standard policies annually for eligibility for standard policy type.
  • Review renewal each year for accuracy and possibility of additional coverage's and or re­ underwriting.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education : HS Diploma or equivalent

Experience : One to two years related experience

Computer Skills

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and have the ability to learn other computer programs quickly; Proficient in Applied EPIC.
