Position Summary
In this customer facing role, the Inside Sales Manager will work alongside the sales team to support customer needs, research, engage and develop new accounts, and assist in closing sales in support of Company revenue growth and market share gain initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, self-directed creative thinker with the ability to problem solve, maintain exceptional customer communication, and coordinate effectively and efficiently with internal functions. This role is based in Charlotte, NC and reports to the Sales Manager of the Business Unit.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop customer service representatives and inside sales territory managers regarding service and sales expectations, policy and procedure adherence, and programs
- Ensure customers and field sales personnel are provided with constantly improving knowledge and supportive order, quotation, and warranty service
- Provide support to customers to enhance their purchasing experience, to include order entry and management
- Develop an in-depth understanding of HBD’s electric motor portfolio of services and capabilities to provide guidance to customers on selection of products
- Assist and support the sales team by maintaining effective communication internally and externally to deliver sales results
- Generate quotes for products and services based on established procedures and guidelines and follow process through entire quote and order cycle
- Provide timely reporting of sales activities and efficient quote follow-up to close sales
- Actively prospect for new business opportunities by generating and qualifying sales leads
- Develop relationships with assigned accounts to understand their needs for current and potential future products and support
- Participate in the sales planning process and continuous improvement/process improvements initiatives
Experience and Education Required
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Inside sales experience in an industrial or technical sales field
- 2 - 3 years previous customer service management experience
- Knowledge of the industrial sales process from initiation to close
Technical Skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong phone presence and presentation experience
- Enthusiastic, outgoing, customer-oriented personality desired
- Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Dynamics AX or 365 experience a plus
- Analytical skills to monitor effectiveness of pipeline activities and sales programs
Travel Required
- Minimal travel to targeted customers, end users, and other company sites as required by business needs, approximately 10-15%.
