DITEK is currently hiring a Field Sales Engineer to join our Sales Team. The FSE recommends new products and provides technical support to customers and generates revenue through forecasting, lead generation, qualification, and closing sales.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for achieving individual sales goals in the assigned region.
- Travel within the region as necessary, approximately 50% of the time, to complete the scope of the job.
- Develop a sales plan for the region and implement Sales and Marketing programs and activities to achieve the plan goals.
- Develop sales leads through business relationships, lunch & learns, and investigation within the region. Qualify those leads through the analysis of the potential product use and sales potential.
- Establish specific account strategies for major sales opportunities.
- Maintain required DITEK product and customer application/technical knowledge in a range of markets to service customer needs.
- Conduct detailed site surveys and reports.
- Make presentations to end user customers, integrators, engineering firms and distributors detailing our products and how they relate to specific industries and applications.
- Attend and represent DITEK at industry trade shows and events as needed.
- Submit regular summaries to record pertinent information regarding customer needs, new applications, competition, general trends, etc.
- Submit required sales reports to summarize accomplishments, information gained and to outline upcoming month’s activities.
- Recommend new products by evaluating current product results; identifying needs to be filled.
- Contribute information to market strategy by monitoring competitive products and reactions from accounts.
- Work cohesively across multiple departments (internally & externally) to ensure that expectations and performance goals are met in a timely and professional manner.
- Act as a backup to other DITEK Field Sales Engineers as needed.
- Effectively multi-task and prioritize projects, tasks, and travel accordingly.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent work experience is required.
- Four (4+) plus years’ experience in a customer facing pre-sales role, preferably in the security industry.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, and work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to sell and effectively build credibility in front of all levels of management.

- Must possess exceptional organizational and analytical abilities and pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers and various levels of management within the organization.
- Highly motivated requiring minimal direct supervision, and the ability to work with and support various departments with the organization when required.
- Prioritize and handle multiple demands and assignments.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office and Access applications with the ability to learn quickly as new applications are introduced.
- Ability to perform all functions of the job classification without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in/out of the workplace.
