What we need:

We are hiring a Solution Delivery Manager (Sales and Operations & Execution) to our team! This is an individual contributor position that will work from HNI’s headquarters in Muscatine, IA.

The Solution Delivery Manager works with the business, identifying enabling technology solutions that meet the evolving business needs of HNI operating companies.

This role works to understand current processes and systems and then helps define and achieve the future state of HNI’s business and system capabilities.

The position:

  • Defines and helps to develop the new capabilities required by the business;
  • Develops, manages, governs, and helps execute this IT portfolio;
  • Manages and represents the Sales, Operations and Execution (SOE) and Planning, Scheduling and Procurement (PSP) areas of IT to HNI’s business.

    This requires building strong relationships with operating company members and leaders to understand and determine their business strategies, key issues and problems, and the new capabilities required to meet the business objectives, translating those needs into business and IT actions.
  • Manages small-to-large projects, assembles teams, assigns responsibilities, and develops schedules.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports.
  • This position requires informal leadership and mentorship of team members.
What you will do:
  • Build relationships with operating company stakeholders
  • Define business and system capabilities
    • Understand the business process and systems well enough to document the impact to customers and financial impact to the business.
    • Put together a business case with metrics and return on investment.
  • Define business investments and projects
    • Analyze and understand current Business, Processes, and Systems – from a business, data, and technical viewpoint
    • Apply subject matter functional experience in many of the following areas: Order management in regard to Configure to Order (CTO) and Build to Stock (BTS) Fulfillment, Order Promising, Sourcing, Supply Chain Planning and Scheduling, Capacity Mgt., Work Order creation, Forecasting, Material Planning and Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Inventory Planning, Inventory Mgt., Work-in-Process, Discrete Manufacturing, Mobile Supply Chain Mgt., Warehouse Mgt., Shipping, Transportation.
    • Apply subject matter functional experience in Oracle VCP/EBS R12 and Oracle ERP / Supply Chain Cloud, or another Advanced Planning and Scheduling suite.
  • Manage the digital (SOE) and (PSP)
    • Partner with the business to build and follow a 3–5-year roadmap.
  • Help define, run, and execute projects
    • Synthesize high-level concepts surrounding new work requests into a scope documents and sets of business needs.
    • Apply experience in Project management and work within the guidelines of a project management framework and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
  • Managing the SOE and the Planning & Scheduling areas of IT as a business
    • Manage, measure, monitor and report to the business IT’s key business metrics around: the business and digital strategy and roadmaps, the digital SOP and PSP portfolio, incidents / service requests SLAs, the IT costs to serve the business.
    • Define the metrics and analyze the data around these key IT processes.

What you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or related equivalent experience (MBA preferred)
  • 12+ years functional experience in many of the following areas: Order management regarding CTO and BTS Fulfillment, Order Promising, Sourcing, Supply Chain Planning and Scheduling, Capacity Mgt., Work Order creation, Forecasting, Material Planning and MRP, Inventory Planning, Inventory Mgt., Work-in-Process, Discrete Manufacturing, Mobile Supply Chain Mgt., Warehouse Mgt., Shipping, Transportation.
  • Self-motivation and a strong internal drive.
  • The ability to clearly and concisely express professional opinions with supporting rationale.
  • Comfort making independent field-level decisions and interpretations of existing organizational policies and procedures.
  • A very strong ability to document meeting notes, business correspondence, and flow-charts
  • The ability to effectively present information and training in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other members of the organization.
