PURPOSE

This position is responsible for serving as the primary contact for a portfolio of accounts, and is responsible to maintain current business and develop new business to produce revenue.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for the tracking of customer SOP’s, KPI’s and score cards.
  • Produce revenue and profits by continually strengthening relationships with existing customers and finding and developing new customers.
  • Generate new business via direct sales and cold calling; prospecting and following up on leads.
  • Responsible for client prospecting, management, negotiations and relations leading to a strong long-term strategic partnership.
  • Oversight for all activities that impact service/contact obligations.
  • Maintain working knowledge of a strategic customer business and network.
  • Ability & willingness to support carrier management team as needed by the business.
  • Serve as a mentor to the Account Managers I & II within their teams.
  • Responsible for attaining monthly individual goals which lead to meeting or exceeding branch AOP.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • BA in Business Management, Logistics or like discipline, or combination of education and logistics expertise, or customer service/sales experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or like experience.

  • Proficient in negotiating, sales or broker experience.
  • Advanced communication (written and verbal), organizational, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.

Working conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office productivity machines.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 pounds of office objects.
  • Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions.
  • Occasionally attend meetings in buildings outside corporate office and at off-site locations with various internal conditions, and requiring travel in various external conditions.
  • Travel domestically as necessary.
