Corus International is seeking an Associate for Business Development to join its dynamic and growing Global Relationships and Resources Team. This newly created opportunity reports directly to the Senior Director, Business Development and supports the efficient functioning of the unit, which includes the Business Development unit, the Cost and Pricing unit, and the Foundations and Strategic Partnerships unit. This position offers the flexibility to work in a full-time remote capacity in the United States; or in a hybrid work arrangement in one of our offices in Washington, DC or Baltimore, MD.
The Associate of Business Development supports the team in the business acquisition process beginning with donor engagement through award negotiation.
Responsibilities
- Team Management (50%): Provides administrative and logistical support as needed, including consultant procurement.
- Knowledge Management and Analysis (25%): Maintains the Business Development pipeline, which includes donor tracking and go/no-go coordination.
- Positioning, Capture and Proposal Development (15%): Supports efforts for Corus to maximize competitiveness through pre-bid research, proposal tracking, and proposal coordination.
- Capacity Building (10%): Plans and facilitates training sessions for staff on business development capacities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in international development, agriculture, economics, or another related field.
- At least two years of related experience to include some experience supporting grants for successful proposals to USAID, US Department of State and/or major foundations.
- Mastery of MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, information management systems.
- Excellent communicator-verbal and written.
- Strong facilitation skills
- Able to collaborate with a diverse workforce.
- Proactive and flexible work style, capable of identifying and responding to shifting priorities.
- Preferred fluency in French, Spanish or Arabic.
