O'Neal Industries (ONI) is currently looking for a Manager of Business Development. This position will be accountable for leading the business development program and coordinating related marketing and sales efforts of the O’Neal operating companies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, market research, analysis, and development; lead generation; national account coordination; emerging market strategy; and sales and marketing coordination throughout ONI.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
National Account Coordination (Multiple ONI companies)
- Coordinate commercial activities between customers and ONI companies
- Act as designated corporate representative, as needed
Market Development
- Identify and/or provide analysis on emerging and existing metals consuming industries
- Develop market strategy
- Coordinate with all companies
Lead Generation
- Supports on-going efforts to provide lead generation to all ONI companies
Research
- Markets/industries
- Identify new and emerging market opportunities
- Periodically review market trends for existing markets
- Products/services
- Monitor Industry trends in products and services offered
- Identify new and emerging opportunities
- Geography
- Provide regional market data and intelligence upon request
- Assist and support Sales blitzes and surveys
- Industry statistics/trends
- MSCI; Metals distribution
- AISI; Steel and metal production
- Trade data and reports
Competitor and Supplier Analysis
- Create and maintain up to date files on major competitors and suppliers
- Provide analysis of trends and strategic changes
Industry News
- Provide summaries and analysis based on available market information, examples below
- Companies, products, trends
- Monitor news articles, press releases and trade publications for relevant information, and distribute intercompany
- Economic Indicators
- Maintain and review monthly major economic indicators and publish in SharePoint Marketing
- Advocacy/regulatory
- Economic business cycle updates
- Companies, products, trends
Customer Feedback/Surveys
- Assist and coordinate with operating companies as required
- Communicate, analyze, and consolidate results
Sales and Marketing Council Leadership
- Chair meetings/conference calls/market updates
- Provide feedback to ONI and operating company management
- Plan and facilitate sales “mixers”

Required Skills
To qualify for consideration an applicant must possess the following skills. Possession of these skills is a prerequisite for employment.
Job Specific
- Multi-year (5+) O’Neal and/or industry sales, sales management, or marketing background, with experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Access, etc.
General Skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively using the English language in both written and verbal form.
- Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must have excellent skills for working with a variety of people and positions.
- Periodic travel required
