Reports to: Vice President of Marketing and Sales Operations

Location: Loveland, CO preferred

Division: Sales & Marketing

Salary Range: $58,300 to $85,600 (depends on experience)

Position Summary

This position is an integral part our sales and marketing team; and is critical to achieving our goal to be the leading zero-emission powertrain provider for fleets. This position is responsible for actively promoting our vehicles to smaller organizations that are vital to Lightning’s overall strategy – this includes small transit fleets, small school bus fleets, and private operators. The Inside Sales Specialist position supports the sales process by prospecting into target prospects, fields and qualifies inbound leads from marketing efforts, and manages the sales process for small prospect fleets from lead to deal close.

This role may require travel, up to about 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle from lead to deal close for prospect opportunities with fleets of five units or less
  • Consistently achieve target sales numbers for market segments
  • Utilize CRM system to document and manage a large volume of opportunities
  • Directly move sales opportunities forward by working with Lightning’s sales operations and marketing teams on email and social media nurturing programs
  • Utilize tools such as ZoomInfo to identify ideal target accounts and conduct outreach programs (email, social, telephone) to engage with them
  • Assist Sales Operations with inbound lead qualification when needed
  • Assign large opportunities (6+ units) to appropriate Regional Sales Managers utilizing our CRM system to ensure a clean handoff
  • Follow up with and qualify leads that are generated from trade events and assign them as required
  • Report on pipeline development efforts
  • Assist with customer communications to move grant programs forward as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Sales Professional: Understand sales strategies and tactics to optimize interactions with prospects and demonstrate the value of our products. An understand of selling with TCO and ROI is critical.
  • Organization and time management: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, utilize our CRM system to stay organized, and communicate results.
  • Communication: Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with prospects, customers, and colleagues. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills are essential along with the ability to listen intently to others.
  • Creativity: identify creative ways to get prospects to respond and engage with us. Use multiple communication channels to build on and amplify each other to create prospect interest.
  • Flexibility: Ability to respond appropriately and timely to unexpected challenges and shifting priorities. You should be resourceful and creative; and possess enthusiasm for learning more about the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry.
  • Customer Service: Passion for delivering exemplary service. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. You should also be collaborative and exhibit a positive attitude toward your work and colleagues.

What we require:

  • Associate’s degree Business, Communication, or related field of study
  • At least 2 years of experience in sales or sales related role
  • 4+ years of professional work experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills

What we prefer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or other related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated sales experience, particularly in a business development role
  • Demonstrated experience in the automotive industry
  • Experience working in a public company

Working environment/physical requirements:

  • This position involves sedentary and often repetitive administrative work in an office environment.
  • Walking short distances may be required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, bend, lift, squat, push, pull, reach overhead, reach away from body, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Some travel possible (<10%)
