Andalusia Distributing Co. has retained GRITT Business Coaching to find a Director of Food Service. Andalusia Distributing Co. is a full-line wholesale distributor servicing the Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Florida regions. Andalusia Distributing Co. is seeking an analytical and sales-minded Food Service Director who will provide strategic sales strategy and operational guidance, direction, and tactical expertise for the Food Service Category to increase revenue generation and profitability. We want you to bring your expertise and ideas to educate our sales team and customers on growth initiatives that will increase sales while building better long-term partnerships. You will expand the Food Service segment and identify and implement key priorities for increasing sales.
The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of sales success and developing sales strategies in the Foodservice industry, the ability to multi-task in a demanding environment, and demonstrate a high level of initiative while delivering results.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish direction and provide leadership, guidance, and problem-solving for current Food Service accounts in order to achieve volume and profit objectives.
- Responsible for growing revenue for current accounts while building and maintaining sustainable relationships with the customers.
- Develop, train, and implement sales strategies and account plans for accomplishing volume and promotional objectives.
- Research new items and programs to initiate innovation and optimize business results.
- Drive and guide the quality of team deliverables.
- Identify and manage obstacles within their respective sales team that may impede sales activity.
- Promote cross-collaborative relationships within the sales team and across the company.
- Meet or exceed annual sales objectives for defined foodservice categories.
- Identify focus areas where sales and product knowledge can be improved upon.
- Develop an action plan to increase product knowledge and coach the team on how to optimize sales.
- Coach employees by creating a shared understanding of what needs to be achieved and how to execute.
- Analyze and communicate customers’ profitability as it relates to the foodservice category.
- Effectively work with sales team to create and lead food service presentations to prospective customers.
- Develop and implement training and education for the sales staff regarding company programs and industry trends.
- Develop meaningful relationships and establish rapport to better resolve problems associated with products, services, vendors, purchasing, etc.
- Inform Leadership of progress, problems, opportunities, and marketplace or plan changes.
Qualifications:
- 5+ Foodservice sales experience.
- Degree in Sales/Communication with a minimum of 4 years in Food Service Sales / Industry preferred.
- Ability to obtain Food Safety Certification.
- Ability to motivate others and engage effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated passion for Food Service and provide proven sales accomplishments.
- Ability to train personnel on Food Service Regulations, persuasive selling practices, and equipment knowledge.
- Confident and knowledgeable in all aspects of Food Service Regulations and Equipment.
- Ability to make critical decisions in managing large budgets, exceeding sales goals, and being proactive in building/presenting strategies to achieve company goals.
- The ability to act independently and in team environments with a sense of urgency in handling challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Required Equipment Knowledge:
- Basic AS400 operational skills and/or ability to quickly learn specialized software.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel operational skills.
- Keypunch skills.
