WBRC is the legacy, first-place station in Central Alabama and we have an immediate opening for a talented, motivated, and results-oriented General Sales Manager to join our energetic and professional sales team.

Job Summary/Description:

WBRC FOX6 News in Birmingham, AL is looking for a General Sales Manager to lead our team of highly experienced multimedia marketing consultants. The successful candidate will guide our team in creating solution-oriented campaigns that deliver results. This key department head must be engaged and strategic, with an ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with the entire station team. Provide dynamic leadership and foster a winning culture to achieve budgets and grow revenue for local, regional, national and digital sales. Maximize and manage inventory, rate cards, special opportunities and forecast revenue. Candidate must have a strong understanding of digital solutions, and a successful track record of growing new and existing local direct business.

Expected to help increase digital revenue with the sales team by doing the following:

  • Assist the Account Executives in building presentations when digital is part of the discussion
  • Provide or assist in strategy when deciding what to pitch to a client and prepare the recommendation page along with supporting slides
  • Pitch the digital products in conjunction with the Account Executives. This should be a team effort
  • Responsible for putting together digital reporting including Google Analytics information (if applicable) for the AE and attend the reporting meetings to review and interpret results accurately
  • Responsible for providing optimization suggestions to increase effectiveness for campaigns
  • If there are any campaign changes that need to be done for a client, it is your responsibility to communicate those particular changes to the Sales Assistants
  • Responsible for preparing and communicating monthly digital statistics for all core platforms to the team
  • Expected to help provide sales leads to the team in order to increase digital revenue
  • Provide client research on their digital landscape for AEs prior to their CNA with said client.
  • Responsible for making sure digital campaigns are running correctly. This includes giving all necessary information needed to the Sales Assistants for campaigns to launch correctly, checking vendor sites regarding campaigns running accurately, checking TapClicks for performance and making sure campaigns will fully deliver each month on both core and extended products

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of five years in sales (sales management preferred)
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to initiate creative sales efforts
  • Ability to foster a collaborative, supportive team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in guiding, motivating and leading a successful sales team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Wide Orbit and Matrix
